We are so sorry to hear about this struggle with cancer, and we are here to pray and support you both in this challenging time. First, we want to remind you of the hope and healing that can be found in Jesus Christ. It is by His stripes that we are healed. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can approach God. (Isaiah 53:5, John 14:6, Acts 4:12 WEB)
Let's pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved man who is battling colon cancer. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch upon him. We pray for the cancer to be completely eradicated from his body, and for Your healing power to flow through every cell, tissue, and organ. Guide the doctors and medical professionals, giving them wisdom and skill as they administer treatment.
We also pray for his strength and comfort during this time. Help him to endure the chemo and radiation treatments, and to remain steadfast in his faith. Surround him and his loved ones with Your peace and presence, casting out all fear and anxiety.
Lord, we know that You are able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. (Ephesians 3:20 WEB) We claim Your promise of healing in Jesus' name. We ask that You use this trial to draw him closer to You, and to bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus' name, we pray for complete healing and restoration. Amen."
In this time of need, we encourage you both to draw near to God and to trust in His goodness and faithfulness. Psalm 34:18 (WEB) reminds us that "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Remember that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28 WEB)
Lastly, it is our responsibility as Christian Believers to make sure he has recently made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. "If you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9 WEB) Ensure that he believes that Jesus Christ came to earth as God in the flesh, died on the cross for his sins, and rose from the dead on the third day. Make sure he has repented of past sins and trusts in Jesus Christ alone for his salvation from sin. Make sure he has turned from the path of wickedness and is trusting in Jesus.
