We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who is battling colon cancer. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We ask for Your mighty hand of healing to rest upon him, that every cancerous cell would be destroyed and that his body would be completely restored to health. Lord, we declare that by Your stripes, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that nothing is impossible for You (Matthew 19:26).
We pray for strength and comfort for him as he endures chemotherapy and radiation. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Give him the endurance to press on, knowing that You are with him every step of the way. We also pray for wisdom for his medical team, that they would be guided by Your hand in every decision they make regarding his treatment.
Father, we ask that You would encourage his spirit during this difficult time. Remind him of Your love and faithfulness, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. We pray that the test results would bring good news, showing that the cancer is being defeated and that his body is responding to the treatments.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of sickness and disease in the name of Jesus. We command every cancer cell to die and for his body to be made whole. We speak life over him, declaring that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have plans for him, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also want to gently remind everyone reading this that our prayers are powerful and effective when we pray in the name of Jesus (James 5:16). It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If anyone reading this does not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we encourage you to turn to Him today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Let us continue to lift this brother up in prayer, trusting that God is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We pray for his complete healing, for strength in his body, and for peace in his heart. May he feel the love and support of the body of Christ surrounding him, and may he be a testimony to Your healing power. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
