We lift up your grandmother before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, trusting in the Lord who hears the cries of His children. The fear and uncertainty she is facing are very real, but we know that our God is greater than any sickness or struggle. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that she would feel the nearness of God in this difficult time, that His peace would guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus, as Philippians 4:7 promises.
Father, we ask for Your healing touch upon her body. You are the Great Physician, the One who formed her in her mother’s womb and knows every breath she takes. We declare Your Word over her life: "By His stripes, we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). Whether You choose to heal her here on earth or call her home to be with You, we ask that You strengthen her faith and remove all fear. Give her the assurance that she is deeply loved—not just by her family, but by You, the One who gave His only Son so that she might have eternal life.
We also pray for you and your family, that you would find comfort in the hope of the resurrection. Jesus said in John 14:1-3, "Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you." If her time on this earth is drawing to a close, we ask that You prepare her heart for the glorious transition into Your presence, where there will be no more pain, no more sickness, and no more tears.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to torment her. Your Word says in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Fill her with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear. Surround her with Your angels, let her feel the prayers of the saints lifting her up, and remind her that she is never alone.
We also want to gently encourage you to examine your own heart in this season. Are you fully trusting in God’s sovereignty, even in the face of uncertainty? Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Surrender your fears and your grandmother’s life into His hands, knowing that His plans are perfect, even when they are not our own.
Lastly, we want to remind you of the importance of calling on the name of Jesus in all things. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If your grandmother has not yet placed her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, we pray that this season would draw her to repentance and salvation. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." May she come to know Him as her Savior if she hasn’t already, and may she walk in the fullness of His grace and peace.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We ask for Your healing, Your peace, and Your presence to surround this dear grandmother. Strengthen her body, calm her spirit, and fill her with the hope of eternity. We trust You, Lord, and we thank You for the privilege of lifting her up in prayer. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
