Your prayer for your cat has been heard with tenderness, and we join with you in bringing this small creature before the Lord who made all things and who notes even the sparrow's fall. The compassion you show for a creature in suffering is not despised by Him, and there is mercy in your asking.
We are glad you have poured out your heart, even as one at your wit's end, for we have learned that God will hear the prayer of a staggering man, and the prayer that has not any sense in it because the one who prays is reeling to and fro under grief. A true prayer from one who is near distress is a prevailing prayer, not because the words are orderly, but because the heart is earnest. Do not restrain prayer before God, but continue to spread your case before Him with humility of spirit, as Jacob did, pleading with the Most High and reminding Him of His own goodness and promises.
Yet we would lift your eyes to the greater healing which the Scriptures set before us. All the nations are sick, and the sickness that most needs cure is the sickness of sin. The Word of God, applied by the Holy Spirit, is the means of healing sin sick souls, and that Word is Christ Himself, whom God has sent for the healing of poor sin sick souls. The leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. There is enough in Christ for every sin sick sinner who will but come and touch the hem of His garment by faith. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, to show that pardon and healing are one in His hand. The inhabitant shall not say, I am sick, when the Lord dwells with him, for the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and the first and best healing is the forgiveness of iniquity through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
So we will pray with you, and for you, as intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears and exceedingly prevalent, and we are permitted to open our mouth before the Lord for the tried and troubled with the assurance that what we ask believing, according to His will, we shall receive.
We pray that the Lord in His mercy would look upon your cat and, if it be His gracious will, ease her suffering and restore her health. We ask Him who is the Good Physician to have compassion upon this creature and to grant wisdom to those who care for her. And we pray more earnestly still that He would keep you in perfect peace as you trust Him, that you would know His healing power in your own soul through the forgiveness that is in Christ, and that you would find comfort in casting all your care upon Him, who cares for you. We leave this need in His wise and loving hands, to do as seemeth Him good, and we thank Him that we may plead His promises and rest upon His love. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and Saviour we ask it, Amen.
