Healing, anxiety

We thank God with you for His blessings and for hearing our prayers, and we join you in asking for His mercy upon your body and mind.

Your request for healing and for deliverance from anxiety is heard with care. Scripture teaches that our healing comes not only through the passing relief of the body but through the deeper work of Christ, who came to deliver us from evil and to bring us into sonship, giving us the Spirit of adoption so that we may call upon the Father with confidence. In Him we have both the physician and the medicine. As a physician does not cease to apply what heals even when the sickness lingers, so the Lord continues His healing treatment through His word. Therefore we encourage you to continue in careful hearing and continual recollection of that word, looking not only with outward eyes but with the eyes within, receiving His promises in a spiritual and faithful way.

Anxiety and disease can weary and disfigure us, but the beauty and health that Christ gives is not fleeting like that of the body. It is ever blooming and is kept secure in Him. He knows our frame and our fears, and He desires to free His children from anxiety and to establish them in thorough security and liberty, so that even in weakness we may have peace because we are held by Him.

We pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone is salvation, we ask You to lay Your healing hand upon this Your servant. Touch the body where there is pain and infirmity and bring restoration according to Your wisdom and mercy. Deliver from the burden of anxiety and grant fortitude, quietness of heart, and trust in Your promises. Help to hear Your word continually and to keep it, that it may bear fruit in due season, and let the Spirit of adoption assure this heart of Your nearness and love. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

May the Lord keep you in His peace, strengthen you day by day, and make you worthy of His comfort and everlasting blessings.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer and for beginning with thanksgiving. God does hear our prayers, and it is right to come to Him with gratitude even while asking for help.

Scripture shows us that physical healing is part of what Jesus provided. When Matthew describes Jesus healing all who were brought to Him at Peter's house in the evening, he says this fulfilled what Isaiah wrote, that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. Isaiah's prophecy is often understood only as spiritual, but Matthew applies it directly to bodies being healed. That is why when Jesus broke the bread and said this is My body which is broken for you, we can remember that His suffering was for the whole person.

At the same time the Bible keeps us from presuming that God wills healing in every case in the way and time we expect. Paul prayed three times for the Lord to remove the thorn in his flesh, that messenger of Satan that buffeted him, and the answer was not removal but grace to endure. Not everyone is healed, and not everyone has the gifts of healing. The New Testament asks, do all have gifts of healing, and the implied answer is no. There is much about healing that remains beyond our understanding. Why some are healed quickly and others are not is not fully clear to us.

I do believe God still heals today and that He is able and concerned for your physical needs. Healing can come instantly, and it can also come gradually. Every process of healing in the body is divinely created. God established the natural processes that restore us, and that gradual work is no less from Him than a sudden touch. He also brings healing that is physical, emotional and spiritual. Sometimes His healing first brings peace to the mind and heart, mending the wounds and scars inside, and that inward health deeply affects the body. There is a close connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. As the proverb says, a merry heart does good like a medicine, and we now see how anxiety and heaviness can work against physical well being, while hope and peace strengthen it.

That is especially true for anxiety. Anxiety often grows when we feel trapped or pressed down by many pressures, whether relational, financial or spiritual. The psalmist David knew that feeling and spoke to his own soul, asking why are you cast down and disquieted within me. His answer to himself was to hope in God. When God is left out of the equation, problems look impossible and we become overwhelmed. When we put Him back into the situation and place our hope in Him, we see things differently and find strength to go on. Deliverance from anxiety does not mean pressures disappear, but that God is factored back into every pressure with us.

So I will pray for you that God will touch your body according to His wise and loving will, whether through a sudden work or through the steady healing processes He has placed within you, and that He will lift the weight of anxiety and give you a quiet heart. May He feed and strengthen your inner life as you look to Him in prayer and trust, and may you know His presence as you hope in Him.

Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this dear one before You with thanksgiving that You hear prayer. I ask that You would lay Your hand upon this body and bring healing as You will, for You bore our infirmities. I ask that You would deliver from anxiety and give peace that guards heart and mind. Help to hope in You again, to see You in the midst of every pressure, and to rest in Your care. Let Your will be done and let Your comfort and strength be known. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been lifting up your request for healing over your body and for deliverance from anxiety before our Father God, thanking Him for His blessings and for hearing our prayers. We continue to bring your need before the Lord and ask for His healing touch and His perfect peace to rest upon you. We claim His promise in Philippians 4:7 that His peace will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and we remember the word in Psalm 103:3 that He heals all our diseases and in 1 Peter 5:7 that we can cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us.

If your request was answered and you have experienced healing and peace from anxiety, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you and give glory to God. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We want to continue to stand with you until you see His answer.

Father God we thank you for hearing our prayers and for your blessings. We ask together for your healing power over this body and for deliverance from anxiety. Lord touch with your healing hand and fill this heart with your peace that passes all understanding. Strengthen faith while waiting and let your will be done. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
