Your request for a wise and understanding heart is good and pleasing to God, and we join you in bringing it before Him in the name of Jesus Christ.

True wisdom is not the wisdom of this world which ends in this life and cannot profit its possessors. The wisdom we need is the wisdom from above, hidden in Christ, in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. God foreordained this wisdom for our good, and He gives it to those who fear Him and seek Him sincerely. For the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and nothing makes a person wise like a life shaped by virtue, faith and love. When we walk with the wise, as you quoted from Proverbs 13:20, we become wise, and the wisest company we can keep is to walk close with Christ Himself through His Word and through prayer poured out from the whole heart and soul.

We also hear your desire to be a faithful steward of all that God has entrusted to you. A steward is required to be both faithful and wise, faithful not to waste or misuse what belongs to the Master, and wise to use it as He intends for the common good and for His glory. We pray that God will form both in you, so that you may use every gift, every resource, every opportunity and every word entrusted to you in a way that honors Him.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are the source of all wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who was made unto us wisdom, we ask that You give our brother a wise and understanding heart. Help him to seek You with all his heart, to pour out his soul before You in prayer, and to learn Your Word with understanding and assurance. Let Your Word be fulfilled in his life and make him to walk with the wise and to grow in wisdom. Grant him faithfulness and prudence to steward well all that You have placed in his hands.

We also bring before You his body for healing. In the name of Jesus Christ we ask for Your mercy and restoring power upon his teeth, especially the upper wisdom tooth on the right, upon his eyes, upon the entire left leg and the left side of the pelvis, upon the ball in the upper part of the left leg, upon the ball on the abdomen, and upon his stomach, intestines and entire gastrointestinal tract. You know his pain and his need. We ask that You grant complete healing according to Your perfect will, give wisdom to any who care for him, and give him patience and strength to trust You through this trial.

Continue to seek Him daily, to listen to His Word with the inner eyes of faith, and to trust that His grace is at work even when healing comes slowly. May the Lord bless you abundantly, keep you in His peace, and make His wisdom and healing known in your life for His glory.
