Healing and Thanksgiving

We join with you in lifting up this need for healing and thanksgiving before the Lord, and we stand with you in believing that God can and does heal according to His will. We hear your desire for effectual, fervent prayer and we are encouraged by your hunger to see your family serve the Lord with whole hearts.

The Scripture reminds us that the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective, James 5:16, and that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, James 5:15. We believe God is still the Lord who heals us, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:2-3, and who says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. With God all things are possible to him who believes, Mark 9:23, and Jesus tells us that with God all things are possible, Matthew 19:26. We also join you in thanksgiving, for we are taught in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, Philippians 4:6, and in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you, 1 Thessalonians 5:18. A thankful heart opens the door to deeper faith and peace even while we wait for healing.

We also want to gently encourage you about something we noticed, your request speaks of believing God can heal but does not mention the name of Jesus. We want to share how precious it is that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved and our prayers are heard. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is by the wounds of Jesus that healing and forgiveness flow, and it is in His name that we pray with confidence.

We also stand with you for your family, for this is the heart of God that households would turn to Him. We pray with you as Joshua declared as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh, Joshua 24:15. We ask God to draw each member of your family to Himself, to soften hearts, to bring repentance and faith, and to establish your home on the foundation of His Word.

We now pray together for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We thank You for Your goodness and mercy and for all Your benefits toward us. We thank You that You are the God who heals and restores. We lift up this dear one who is seeking healing, and we ask in Jesus name that You would touch their body, restore health, ease pain, and strengthen faith to believe that You are able. Let Your healing power be made known and let Your will be done. We pray for a spirit of thanksgiving to fill their heart daily, even in trial, that they may experience Your peace that passes understanding. We pray for their family, Lord, that You would draw each one to salvation through Jesus, that they would turn from any way that does not honor You and choose to serve You together in unity and love. Bring revival to that household, let Your Word dwell richly there, and let each one know Jesus as Lord. Forgive sins, heal diseases, and make this family a testimony of Your grace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer. Amen.

We encourage you to continue in fervent prayer, in reading the Word, and in giving thanks daily for what God has done and will do. Keep trusting Him, keep praying in the name of Jesus, and keep leading your family by example in prayer and devotion. God is faithful and He hears the prayers offered in faith through His Son.

We are grateful you reached out and shared both your need for healing and your thankfulness. Wanting to believe God can heal, and longing for your family to walk with Him, are beautiful desires and we are honored to pray with you.

We know waiting for healing can stretch faith. What has helped many is remembering that the power to heal rests with God himself, not with how perfectly we pray. Your fervent, honest prayers matter because He hears you and loves you, and even when answers take time, He is still near and at work. Keeping a simple rhythm of thanksgiving alongside asking can steady the heart while you wait.

If you have not already, we encourage you to stay in touch with your medical care team as you continue to pray, bringing both prayer and practical care before the Lord. It can also help to invite one or two trusted believers, perhaps family or someone from your church, to pray with you regularly and to share thanks together as God provides.

Father, we thank You for the one who reached out and for their desire to trust You more. We ask for Your healing touch according to Your will, for strength and peace day by day, and for Your grace to draw their whole family closer to You. Help them to feel Your presence and to keep hoping in You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry for healing and for your household to serve the Lord is a right and good desire, and it is met with ready mercy at the throne of grace. We join you in effectual, fervent prayer, remembering that the prayer of faith avails much, not because of our fervency alone, but because we cry unto God Most High, unto God that performeth all things for us.

There is thanksgiving to be offered even now, for the Lord has inclined your heart to seek Him. Faith is the hand which receives what God presents to us, a simple childlike thing which takes what God gives. Keep to the hearing of faith, for the Gospel is the voice of God and it comes by the Spirit of God. A genuine faith in God knows of no difficulties whatever. If you will not trust God, neither shall you have peace, but if you will trust Him who is willing to work with you to make you whole, faith will come, and with it peace and healing.

We pray that the Lord will lay His healing hand upon you. Jesus is pictured as a blessed tree whose leaves are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. Even His common mercies are full of virtue to restore the sick. We ask the Great Physician, who is at the right hand of God, to grant you healing according to His perfect will, to strengthen your body and to revive your spirit, that you may bear glad witness to His matchless power. Though little faith saves, for the weakest faith is real faith and is born from above, we pray that the Lord will give you more grace and stronger faith to believe that God can and does heal, and to rest not on what you can do, but on what Christ has done.

We pray also for your family, that they may be brought to serve the Lord with gladness. Without faith it is impossible to please God, for without faith there is no capacity for communion with Him, no coming to Him who is, and no seeking of Him as a Rewarder. We ask that the Lord will work faith in each member of your household by His Spirit, that they may believe on Him whom He has sent, for that is the work of God. And being born of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, may they serve the Lord in His strength and not their own, at the family altar and in every daily duty, with singleness of heart and with joy. To serve God causes the exercise of faith, and to exercise faith is one of the grandest pleasures to which a mortal can attain.

Therefore we entreat the Lord for you and your house, that He would grant healing to your body, increase to your faith, pardon to your soul through the blood of Christ, and salvation to your family, that together you may serve Him all your days. Cast all your care on Him, for He careth for you, and leave the keeping of your life and the souls of your loved ones in the hands of Jesus, where they shall be kept unto the day of Christ.

O Lord, hear this our prayer, perfect that which concerneth Thy servant, heal and restore, and draw this whole family to Thyself, that they may be a household serving the Lord. For Jesus sake, Amen.
