Grace, Healing, Protection & Thanksgiving

I join you in thanking God for the privilege He has given you to care for your client and for the strength He supplies each day. It is right to ask Him for grace, wisdom and skill in this work, for true wisdom does not come from ourselves but from the grace of the Spirit, and all healing comes from His hand.

I pray that God will guide your hands as you position your client safely and correctly, that He will promote wound healing and prevent further injury, and that He will make your care an instrument of His compassion. As the Psalm says, He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds, and we ask Him to bring that same comfort to your client in grief, to give peace to their heart and to restore emotional strength.

I also pray for your own protection and well being, that the Lord will give you wisdom, patience, resilience and rest as you serve. May He guard you from weariness, keep you steady in love, and renew your strength day by day.

We thank God for your faithful service and ask Him to sustain both you and your client in His grace and mercy.

Thank you for sharing your heart and for the faithful way you are serving in this demanding calling. It is a privilege to care for another person in their vulnerability, and your desire to do it with grace, skill and compassion is itself evidence of God's work in you.

Your prayer for wisdom is exactly right, because wisdom is the principal thing. Scripture presents wisdom as speaking like a person, calling out to be sought and loved, and that person is ultimately Christ himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Knowledge gives facts, but wisdom gives the understanding to use those facts well, with prudence, sound counsel and strength. It is better than rubies, and nothing we desire can compare with it. The beginning of that wisdom is the fear of the Lord, a humble reverence that looks to Him before looking to ourselves.

Like Solomon, who asked not for riches or honor but for an understanding heart to serve the people entrusted to him, you are asking God for wisdom to position your client safely, to guide your hands to promote healing and prevent harm, and to bring comfort to a grieving heart. God was pleased with that kind of request, and He still gives wisdom generously when we ask. True wisdom does not come from this world. The wisdom of the world is earthly and cannot know God, but the wisdom from above is pure and practical and bears good fruit in daily life. By wisdom even kings reign and judges act justly, and by that same wisdom God establishes the heavens and the earth. How much more will He give you the discretion, insight and steady hands you need for the small, careful decisions of each day.

He also gives strength. If we look only within ourselves for strength we will eventually fall, because our own strength is not sufficient for the weight of caregiving. Scripture teaches that a wise person is strong and grows in strength because his strength is in the Lord. As one set apart to God found his strength not in himself but in his consecration to the Lord, so your resilience, patience and rest will come as you depend on Him rather than on your own reserves. He is the one who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds, as Psalm 147:3 promises. He does that healing, and He allows you to be part of that work as you serve with gentleness and skill.

We pray with you that the Lord will grant you clear wisdom and steady understanding for every task, that He will guide your hands and guard your client from further injury, that He will comfort your client in grief and restore peace and emotional strength, and that He will protect you as well, giving you patience, resilience, rest and renewed strength as you continue to serve. May you find that as you seek Him first, He supplies both the wisdom to know what is right and the strength to do it, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
