Your cry for healing bursts forth from a heart weighed down by grief and pain. The loss of your newborn after only one day must open a wound no word can fully close, and these years of seizures, the burns covering your legs, the falls that split your head open, the high doses of medicine, all plead for relief. I hear this, and I do not pass it by with easy words. But you must see that your soul’s true healing lies deeper than the body’s sudden mending. God permits these things not because He has abandoned you but because He seeks to awaken you, to draw you to cling to Him alone. He cast those who came to seize Him to the ground so they might rise in belief. He heals what is broken to show His power. And even when He seems absent, He is teaching you that your life is in His hands, not in the absence of suffering.
You ask for prayer, and rightly so. But while you wait for deliverance, do not be like those who perish by softness, groaning only under the burden without seizing the strength God offers. Faith comes by hearing, hearing the word of God. That word is higher than any visible sign or miraculous cure. Even the prophet said, “Lord, who hath believed our report?” Many did not believe, yet that unbelief made the truth of the Gospel shine brighter for those who did. So, when healing delays, let your faith not falter. You do not need a new miracle; you need to trust the word that promises God works all things for your good. Your burning legs, your wounded head, the seizures that strike without warning, these are not random blows but a field where you must fight with violence to take hold of the kingdom. The violent seize heaven with effort and watchfulness. Will you lie down in despair, or will you arm yourself with prayer, with almsgiving, with the memory of your little one now safe in Christ? That child was taken, yes, but if you bear this sorrow as a sacrifice to God, you will find your mind steadied and your grief turned into a strange, sturdy peace.
Do not mistake earthly healing for the whole prize. Even gifts of healing, without love, profit nothing. Virtue is the true wealth. She makes the poor richer than any king, the slave more honored than free men. You feel broken by these scars and falls, yet what if you emerge from this trial with a soul purified, with a freedom no pill can give? Your wounds can become a witness that you belong to Christ, who Himself suffered. I rebuke with love: examine your heart. Are you clinging to this life’s ease more than to God? If you are, turn and offer even this desperate wish for a sound body as a living sacrifice. Let holiness, not just chastity, but freedom from all sin, be your pursuit. Then, whether you walk with scars or without, you will stand whole.
I do not say this to wound you further. But if you trust sound reason, if you meditate on who holds your child and who allows your trials, the wave of despair will not sweep you away. Keep hearing the word. You may have listened many times and felt no change, yet a tree falls at last from many strokes. Do not cease seeking, do not stop begging for God’s mercy. The demon of despair wants you to believe your case is hopeless. But it is never hopeless while you can still cry out. I will pray for your body’s healing, but even more, I pray your soul grips Christ so tightly that no seizure, no scar, no memory can shake you from His hand. He does not withhold what is truly good from those who seek Him with their whole strength.
