We join with you in lifting up your son to our compassionate Father in heaven, who cares deeply for each of his children. We are reminded of the Lord's promise in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your healing and protection for our beloved brother in Christ. Lord, You know the struggles he faces due to PTSD, the nightmares that plague his sleep, and the discomfort that accompanies him through the day.
We ask, Father, that You would extend Your comforting hand, as You promised in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Touch his mind, Lord, bring peace to his thoughts, and grant him restful sleep. Cast out the nightmares that torment him, and replace them with Your divine peace, for it is in You that we find our rest, as Psalm 4:8 tells us, "I will lay me down and sleep in peace; for you, Yahweh, alone make me live in safety."
Surround him with Your protection, Father, as he goes about his daily life. Guide him in the path of righteousness, and help him to feel Your constant presence. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and remind him of Your unfailing love for him.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you both to meditate on God's Word, especially the Psalms, which can bring comfort and peace in times of trouble. Remind your son that God is always with him, and that his trials are not wasted, but rather, they are producing in him an eternal weight of glory, as spoken in 2 Corinthians 4:17.
Lastly, remember the words of Jesus in John 16:33, "I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world." Hold onto this promise, and trust in the Lord's unfailing love and faithfulness.
