Chrysostom
Beloved of All
You have begun well by thanking the Lord Jesus and asking forgiveness of sins, for the sick person must first admit the fever before the Physician can apply the remedy. I join your prayer for the complete healing of your family. Bring the affliction you named, whatever it is, under the care of Christ. He healed bodies to draw souls to repentance, and He is able to heal both. Do not despair if the cure is slow. A remedy often works after many applications, and what seems to produce nothing at first may be weakening the disease. Keep attending the assembly of the church, keep hearing the Scriptures, and do not say, I listen but do not profit. Even one who passes by a perfumer's shop is filled with the fragrance against his will. So the word of God works in you even when you do not feel it.
Regarding financial breakthrough, ask for daily bread, but take care that the love of money does not spread like a thick film over the clear eye of faith. Many call a poor man an impostor because he asks for a loaf or a garment, yet do not know whether he has suffered shipwreck, lawsuits, robbery, illness, or other calamities. Give as you are able, and if you cannot give, do not accuse. If you bear losses thankfully, God may restore what was taken, and if He does not restore it, the reward for your patience will be greater. Seek first the kingdom, and entrust your bodily needs to Him who knows them all.
Let us pray. Lord Jesus, You have given this day and all blessings. Forgive our sins. Heal this family from every infirmity of body and soul, and supply what is needful according to Your wisdom. Free them from the blindness of wicked desire, and grant them a clean eye to see Your provision and Your kingdom. Amen.
