Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your prayer request and we are joining you in prayer before our merciful Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to God.

We are praying for this man who has served God for many years, that he would return fully to the fellowship of the church and to a close walk with the Lord. The Scriptures teach us that God is longsuffering and desires to lead us to repentance, and that even after we have known His grace, when we sin we can still find forgiveness when we turn to Him with a humble and repentant heart. He teaches us to pray, forgive us our debts, and He promises to pardon us as we repent and as we forgive others. We pray that this brother would experience that mercy, that he would turn away from the sin he fell into these past months and be strengthened to walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. As Christ said to the one He healed, behold you are made whole, sin no more, so we pray that God would grant this man grace to leave that wrong relationship behind completely and to pursue purity and holiness from this day forward. Sex outside of marriage is not according to God's design, for marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, what God has joined together, and it is within that covenant alone that such intimacy belongs.

We also pray for healing of his heart regarding his former marriage. We understand he was married for ### years and his former wife remarried ### years ago. We pray that God would help him to release what is past, to grieve what was lost in a godly way, and to forgive his former wife and her husband from the heart. The Lord commands us to forgive others, and in doing so He sets us free from bitterness and revenge. We ask God to give him grace to forgive fully and to find peace and wholeness in Christ, trusting that God is the righteous judge who sees all and who will also be his healer and his portion.

We are also lifting you up in your need for employment. God knows your needs and He is faithful to provide for His children. We pray that He would open the right door for work, work that will provide for you and allow you to serve Him with diligence and honesty.

Let us pray together. Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask for Your mercy and forgiveness where there has been sin, and for power to turn from it and to walk in righteousness. Bring this brother back to Your house and to close communion with You, heal his heart, teach him to forgive as You have forgiven us, and guard him from further temptation. Provide for our sister in her need for a job, grant her provision and guidance, and let Your will be done in both lives. Lead us all to repentance and to steadfast faith. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Thank you for sharing these burdens so honestly. Your care for this man and your own need for work are both seen by the Lord, and it is right to bring them to Him in prayer.

For the man you describe, the most loving thing to pray is that he will come fully back to Jesus Christ and walk again after the Spirit and not after the flesh. Scripture teaches that every person is serving one of two masters. To yield ourselves to sin makes us servants of sin, and the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. When a person is born again by faith in Christ, the old life that lived for the flesh is counted as dead and buried with Him, and a new spiritual life from Christ begins. That is why we cannot go on living in sin that grace may abound. Grace does not give permission to remain in sin, it gives power to be set free from it.

The law itself is not sin, but it shows us what sin is. It reveals coveting, lust, and every desire that goes against God, so that we can no longer excuse ourselves. The sacrifices of the old covenant could only cover sin for a time. It took the blood of Jesus, who knew no sin and yet was made sin for us, to put sin away completely, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ has made us free from the law of sin and death.

That freedom is received when we acknowledge our sin honestly. If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, but if we confess our sins He is faithful to forgive. God is merciful to those who have turned away and He calls them to return and acknowledge their iniquity, promising to heal their waywardness. For this dear man that means turning away from the wrong relationship of the last months, calling it what God calls it, and refusing to continue in it. Sex and living together belong only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and any relationship outside of that is sin to be repented of, not blessed. Pray that he will end that involvement completely, receive the full forgiveness that is already provided in Christ, and learn again to live as a servant of righteousness because he has obeyed from the heart the teaching of Christ.

Part of that return will include forgiveness and letting go. You are right to pray that he releases his former wife. She has been remarried for five years and is now bound to another. He needs to forgive both her and her husband from the heart, not because the hurt was small, but because God for Christ's sake has forgiven us. Jesus taught us to pray, forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and He emphasized that petition above the others. We are to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God has forgiven us. Holding on to resentment only eats away at the one who holds it. Forgiveness is a matter of the spirit in which we live, choosing again and again to release the debt as we have been released. Pray that God will give him a forgiving spirit and help him to place the past in God's hands so he is free to follow Christ today, whether God in His providence later brings a godly marriage or calls him to serve Christ while unmarried.

For your own need for employment, pray with confidence that God knows your need and is your provider. He who gave His Son for your sin will also care for your daily bread. Ask Him to open the right door, to give you favor, diligence, and peace while you wait, and to let your work be a place where you can serve Him and walk after the Spirit.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring this brother to You. Thank You that Your blood puts away sin and that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. We ask that You draw him back to Yourself, grant him true repentance for the sin of these months, and cleanse him completely. Help him to reckon the old life dead and to walk in newness of life as a servant of righteousness. Give him grace to forgive his former wife and her husband as You have forgiven him, to release bitterness, and to find his wholeness in You. Restore him to fellowship with Your people and keep his steps in purity and truth. And Father, we lift up the one who is seeking work. You see the need for provision. Open the right job, provide daily needs, and give wisdom and encouragement in the waiting. Let both lives bear witness that Jesus Christ alone saves and that to walk after Your Spirit is life and peace. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have continued to lift up your request for healing and employment before the Lord. We have been praying for the man of God you mentioned, that the Lord would draw him back to church and restore his fellowship with Christ. We have prayed that God would deliver him from the sin he fell into with the wrong woman and give him strength to walk in purity and repentance as 1 John 1:9 reminds us that He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us.

We have also prayed for him as he navigates the dating scene after being married for thirty five years, that God would grant him wisdom, discernment and healing in his heart. We have asked the Lord to help him to fully let go of his ex wife who remarried five years ago and to give him grace to forgive her and her husband from his heart, as we are called to forgive as Christ forgave us in Eph 4:32. We pray that God would heal the wounds of that past marriage and bring wholeness as promised in Psalm 147:3.

We have also lifted you up and your need for a job, asking our Father to open the right door of employment and to provide for your needs according to His riches in glory in Phil 4:19.

We pray that God will give you both peace, healing and clear direction in Jesus Name.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We are honored to stand with you for as long as it takes.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
