Healing and employment

Beloved of All
Pray ### the man of God for many years goes back to church. He fell into sin for couple months wrong woman. He was married 35 years and is new in the dating scene. He needs to let go of exwife. She remarried 5 years ago. He needs to forgive her and her husband. I need a job. In Jesus name.

We join you in praying for this dear brother and for your own need for employment, and we thank you for bringing these requests before the Lord in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and there is salvation in no other name. Acts 4:12

We lift up this man of God who has walked with the Lord for many years and we rejoice that his heart is turning back to the fellowship of the church. We pray he will fully return and remain planted, for we are told not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another. Hebrews 10:25 The church is where he will find accountability, encouragement, and the preaching of the Word to strengthen him after this season of stumbling.

We must speak truthfully in love about the sin he fell into with the wrong woman. What the world may call dating or a mistake, God calls fornication when it involves sexual intimacy outside of marriage, and we are commanded to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 We pray with him for genuine repentance, for God promises if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 We encourage him to confess this fully to the Lord, to turn away from that relationship completely, and to walk in renewed purity. This is part of his healing.

We also hear that he was married for ### years, that his former wife remarried ### years ago, and that he is struggling to let go and to forgive her and her husband. We understand how deep that wound must be, and we pray for his healing. The Lord heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 Part of that healing is obedience to forgive, even when it is painful. We are called to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 and For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14 Forgiveness does not mean the past did not hurt, but it releases him from bitterness and frees him to follow Christ. We pray he will forget what lies behind and stretch forward to what lies ahead. Philippians 3:13

As he is new to courtship after so many years of marriage, we pray he will not simply enter the dating scene as the world does, but will seek a godly marriage if it is the Lord's will for him. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors God, and any courtship should be intentional, pure, and with the goal of marrying another believer in Christ. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14 We pray he will guard his heart, seek wise counsel from mature believers and pastors, and keep himself pure until marriage, trusting God to provide a godly wife in His timing rather than rushing into another wrong relationship out of loneliness.

And we join you in praying for your need for employment. We know the anxiety that comes with needing work, and we trust our Father who knows our needs. We pray the Lord will open the right door and provide for you, for My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 We pray you will be diligent and faithful and that God will establish the work of your hands.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we bring this brother before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask You to draw him fully back to Yourself and to Your church, to cleanse him from all sin and create in him a clean heart. Give him grace to truly repent and to flee from all fornication and temptation. Heal his broken heart from the loss of his ### year marriage, help him to release his former wife to You, and give him the supernatural power to forgive her and her husband as You have forgiven him. Fill him with Your peace and help him to walk in holiness as he seeks Your will for his future, and if it is Your will, prepare a godly Christian wife for him and lead him in a pure courtship that honors You. We also lift up the one who submitted this request and is seeking a job. Lord, You know the need, open doors of employment, provide daily bread, and give wisdom and favor in every application and interview. Let both of these dear ones trust You more deeply and be renewed in their minds to prove Your good and perfect will. Romans 12:2 We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We are lifting you and this dear man up with you in prayer. Carrying both a concern for someone you love and your own need for work is a lot to hold at once, and we hear how much you want healing for him and provision for yourself.

For him, it makes sense that letting go is so hard. A ###-year marriage shapes a whole life, and even when an ex-wife has moved on and remarried, the grief can linger for years, much like grieving a death. Forgiveness in that kind of loss often happens in two layers. There is a decision to release the debt and not pursue revenge, and then there is the slower quieting of resentment and hurt over time. The two do not always move together, and forgiveness does not mean the relationship must be rebuilt. Praying that he can make that decision before God and then allow God to soften the emotions that still rise up can be a gentle way to walk with him. A simple, steady invitation back to church without pressure or shame often helps more than urging.

For your job search, we are praying for open doors and for daily strength while you wait. If it helps, consider asking one trusted person at church or in your community to review your resume and to pray specifically with you each week about applications and interviews. Staying connected while you look can keep discouragement from settling in.

Father, in Jesus' name we bring this brother to You and ask that You draw him back to fellowship with You and Your people, bring healing to old wounds, and give him grace to forgive as You have forgiven us. Provide for our friend with work that meets their needs and uses the gifts You have given them, and give them peace as they trust You day by day. Amen.

Your cry has been brought before the Lord and we join you in laying it at the throne of grace.

We pray for the brother of whom you speak, that the Lord who is rich in mercy would restore him. To fall into sin and to wander from the house of God is a grievous thing, but there is forgiveness with God, and that forgiveness is to be had through Jesus Christ His Son alone. Scripture declares, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake. However great the sin, however long the wandering, there is forgiveness, and it is a complete and surprising forgiveness, purchased by the blood of the Just for the unjust that He might bring us to God.

We pray that his repentance may not be a carnal repentance that is of the flesh and passes away, but that true repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which gives God glory. True repentance stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven and then repents more deeply because it sees what that sin laid upon the Lord. It is a repentance unto life, practical and lasting, yielding works meet for repentance, ejecting sin as an evil tenant and admitting Christ to be sole Master of the heart. May the Lord grant him such a repentance that he may turn wholly from the wrong path he has taken, forsake all impurity, and walk in holiness. For marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy outside that covenant is sin before a holy God. We do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, but we ask Him to cleanse and to restore, to create in this brother a clean heart and to renew a right spirit within him, and to bring him back with joy to the fellowship of the saints.

We pray also that he may be enabled to let go of what is past and to forgive as he has been forgiven. The Word exhorts us to forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us. If we have received so great a forgiveness, so full and so eternal, it ought to be natural for us to open our hands to forgive others. May the Lord give him grace to forgive his former wife and her husband, to release all bitterness, and to leave judgment and healing in the hands of God, that he may no longer be held in bondage.

For your own need we also pray. You ask for healing and for employment, and our Father knows your frame and your necessity. We ask the Lord to lay His healing hand upon you according to His wise and gracious will, and to open a door of honest labor whereby you may provide for your needs and glorify Him therein. May He keep you in dependence upon Christ, who is our life and our provision, and may He grant you contentment and diligence as you wait upon Him.

May the goodness of God lead you both to repentance, and may you know the peace that comes from knowing that there is forgiveness, now, at this moment, for all who come to Christ by faith.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, heal and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
