HEALING AND DELIVERANCE

There is deep longing in your words, and God hears every cry. He knows the frailty of these bodies, formed from the dust, and He remembers how sin first brought pain and sorrow into the world. From the very beginning, when Adam hid himself in the garden, the realities of suffering, sickness, and toil entered our experience. Yet even then, God’s heart was not to leave us without hope.

You are right to thank Him in advance, because faith pleases God and reaches toward His promises. Scripture shows us that blessing follows obedience and trust. When the ancient people stood before the mountain of cursing and the mountain of blessing, it was clear: God wanted to crown them with health, fruitful fields, and protection in every place. Those blessings were meant to overtake them if they hearkened diligently to His voice. We learn that God is deeply interested in our wholeness, even in what we eat and how we live. There is no part of our life where He is not good.

And yet the very laws that promised blessing also warned of curses. Disobedience, rebellion, and straying from His ways opened the door to trouble. The people heard the curses pronounced from the rocky slopes, and each time they answered, “Amen.” They acknowledged that breaking God’s design would bring ruin. We do well to examine our own hearts, not with fear but with humility, repenting of anything we have allowed that does not honor Him. In Christ, the curse has been broken, but we still live in a world that groans under the weight of sin. These bodies can still bear the marks of a fallen creation.

Jesus stepped into our brokenness. He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. When He healed the multitudes, when He touched the leper and calmed the raging fever, He was demonstrating a kingdom where disease and demons have no final say. His compassion remains unchanged. But His healings were not all the same pattern. Some were immediate, like the centurion’s servant rising at that very hour. Others unfolded gradually through the natural processes God Himself designed. A physician’s skill, the slow mending of tissue, the body’s own restorative wonders, these are no less divine. The One who fashioned our frame from the earth built within it remarkable capacity for recovery, and we can cooperate with that by caring for our health with wisdom.

At the same time, we remember that even the apostle Paul groaned in his earthly tent, desiring to be clothed with immortality. Healing in this age is a foretaste, not the full banquet. Some will be delivered from the hospital bed this side of heaven; others will find their ultimate deliverance only when mortality is swallowed up by life. This is not a lack of faith. It is a settled trust that God’s purposes run deeper than our immediate comfort.

So I join you in asking boldly for complete wholeness and freedom from every pain rooted in stroke, procedures, or evil forces. Plead the blood of Jesus, stand on His promises, and expect His goodness. Yet hold those requests with open hands. The Lord whose power stilled the sea and cast out legions is the same who sometimes says, “My grace is sufficient for you.” Even if the infirmity remains for a season, He can turn our sorrow into a place of intimacy with Him. There is a kind of deliverance that comes when joy, laughter, and peace flood the soul, releasing chemicals of health into the body. A cheerful heart does good like medicine, and the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Let gratitude guard your spirit. Thank Him for every small improvement, every moment without pain, every breath. Do not let the fear of hospitals or a future stroke become a shadow over your faith. There is no curse so powerful that it can withstand the finished work of the cross. If you have repented of any known sin and are clinging to Christ, you are not under the law’s condemnation. The curses of Deuteronomy cannot hold you; Jesus became a curse for us. Walk in that freedom, yet remain tender to the Spirit’s conviction if there are areas of disobedience that need to be set right, especially in relationships, purity, or how you treat others. Wrong entanglements and harbored sins have a way of meddling with our own peace and health.

Above all, know that healing is not the proof of God’s love, nor is the absence of healing a sign of His rejection. His love was settled at Calvary. The same Lord who healed Peter’s mother-in-law so she could rise and serve, who mended the outcast leper, still ministers to your body and soul. Trust Him for the miracle, cooperate with the natural means He gives, and fix your eyes on the day when there will be no more pain, no more hospitals, no more stroke, because the former things have passed away.

I praise God with you for the healing He is doing and will do, whether in a moment or across a lifetime. May you feel really good in every part of your body, not as a forced declaration, but as a tangible touch from the One who formed you and loves you completely.
