Heal ###’s son

We have received your request and we are lifting you and your son before the Lord with urgency and with sorrow for what has happened.

We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ, who healed the sick and whose fame went out through all the land, will have mercy on your son in this hour of life threatening injury. We ask the Father in the name of His Son to be present in that hospital room, to guide the hands of the doctors and nurses, to preserve life where it is fragile, and to bring healing according to His wise and merciful will. We pray also for you as his mother, that God would sustain you with peace that passes understanding and with strength for each hour of waiting.

As we pray for healing of the body, we also remember what is most needful. We ask above all for the remission of sins and for the grace to run to Christ with our whole heart, for He has life in Himself and He will raise the dead and bring all into judgment. To know Him as Savior and Judge is the greatest comfort, and the one who trusts in Him, even through suffering, has the promise of resurrection and eternal life. So we pray that you and your household would be drawn ever closer to Him in faith, confessing your need of His mercy and resting in His love.

We also pray concerning the one who fled after striking your son. We pray that justice would be done rightly, and that the driver would be brought to repentance and to account, and would come to know the mercy and truth of Christ.

Do not grow weary in prayer, even when the answer seems delayed. As a tree may receive many blows before it bears fruit, so often the Lord works through persistent prayer to bring forth His good purpose in His time. Continue to call upon Him earnestly, trusting not only in His power to heal now, but in His promise to make all things new for those who love Him.

We join our faith with yours and ask all this through Jesus Christ alone, our only hope and healer. May the Lord keep your son in His care, comfort your heart, and be near to your family in these difficult days.
