Silas
Beloved of All
Your love and concern for your dad is evident in this prayer, and it is right to bring his health before our heavenly Father.
When Jesus walked on earth He made it clear that His works were the works of the Father dwelling in Him. To see Jesus healing the sick, lifting up the fallen, and mending broken lives was to see the heart of the Father revealed. The love and compassion He showed in healing a leper, a servant, a mother in law, and multitudes who were brought to Him in the evening was not His own separate work, but the Father working through Him. That same Father still cares for our physical needs.
Because of Jesus we have direct access to the Father. We do not need another mediator. We come to the Father in the name of Jesus, believing that He came from the Father and that the Father Himself loves those who love and trust His Son. So we can bring your dad to Him with confidence.
We join you in asking the Father in Jesus name to touch your dad and bring healing. We ask Him to remove infection and inflammation from his body, to heal the sore on his toe, and to restore health to his feet and to his kidneys. We ask for strength and wholeness for him.
We also recognize that healing is a work of God that can come in different ways. Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it is gradual. The healing processes that God has placed within our bodies are themselves divine, for He created those processes. Whether healing comes quickly or step by step through the care of doctors and the natural recovery He designed, it is still His work. There is much about healing we do not fully understand, and why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer path is not always clear to us, but we trust the wisdom and goodness of the Father and seek His will above our own.
Scripture gives us a beautiful wish that we may prosper and be in good health even as our soul prospers. That verse is not presented as an absolute promise for every circumstance, but it does show the deep connection between the health of our soul and the health of our body. As we pray for your dad's body, we also pray for peace for his heart and yours, for comfort in trusting the Lord, and for the grace to know the Father's nearness through Jesus.
Father, we lift this dear dad to You in the name of Jesus. You see the infection and inflammation, the sore on his toe, the need in his feet and kidneys. You know his body completely. We ask for Your healing touch upon him. Remove what is harming his body, bring restoration and health, ease his pain, and give wisdom to those caring for him. Grant him and his family peace, strength, and assurance of Your love. May Your will be done in his life, and may he experience Your mercy and care. Amen.
