Thank you for sharing your heart and your desire for healing and freedom from pain, illness and high blood pressure. It is right to bring your body and your struggles to the Lord, and He invites you to come to Him for mercy and help.
Scripture teaches that the life is in the blood, and that God gave blood upon the altar to make atonement for the soul. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. For that reason God taught His people to have a deep reverence for blood, even the blood of animals, because it pointed to something greater.
Under the old covenant the high priest alone could enter the most holy place, and only once a year, and never without blood. First he offered the blood of a bull for his own sin, and then he brought the blood of a goat for the sins of the people and sprinkled it before the mercy seat. Those sacrifices of goats and calves could only cover sin for a time, which is why they had to be repeated year after year. They showed that a better sacrifice was needed.
That better sacrifice has come. Jesus Christ has become our great High Priest. He did not enter an earthly tent made by hands, but heaven itself, to appear in the presence of God for us. He did not enter with the blood of animals, but with His own blood, once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. He is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and exalted above the heavens, seated at the right hand of Majesty. Because His offering is complete, He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him.
Through His suffering He also made provision for healing. His work is not only for the forgiveness of sin, but as Matthew shows, His wounds bear upon our physical infirmities as well. That does not mean healing comes because we claim we deserve no battles or because we declare ourselves winners. The difference between an acceptable offering and one that is rejected was never mere words or effort, but faith. Abel offered by faith and was accepted, while Cain did not. In the same way we come not on the ground of our own strength or record, but by faith in the blood of Christ, holding fast to our confession of Him.
It is understandable to be weary of ongoing battles in your body and to long for perfect health. God is indeed with His people, and He is compassionate toward those who suffer, but His pride and delight in you does not rest on you winning your way to the top. It rests on you being in Christ, cleansed by His blood and clothed in His righteousness. From that place you can come boldly to the throne of grace to find mercy and grace to help in time of need.
I pray for you now that the Lord, our great High Priest, would minister His peace to you, forgive your sins through His blood, cleanse you and sustain you, and in His mercy touch your body. I ask Him to ease your pain, to steady your blood pressure and calm the symptoms that trouble you, to give wisdom to those who care for you medically, and to give you rest and trust as you look to Him. May you know His presence not as a reward for performance, but as the gift of His covenant love through Jesus, and may you continue to trust His perfect will and timing for your healing, whether through a touch of His hand or through the means He provides.
Keep looking to Jesus, your High Priest who ever lives to intercede for you, and keep bringing every need to Him by faith.
