We join with you in bringing your heart's desires before the Lord and we thank you for including the blood of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.
We hear your declaration from Deut 28:13 and we rejoice that you want to walk in God's blessing over your life, your family, your pets, your work, and your future marriage. That verse says, Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you today, to observe and to do them, Deut 28:13. In context, this promise was given to Israel under the covenant at that time and it was conditional, if you listen to the commandments and observe and do them, Deut 28:1. It is not a verse we loosen or speak into existence as a formula for one hundred fold increase by our own words or energy, but a call to humble obedience, trust, and delight in the Lord. We gently correct the idea that we create reality by our own energy or by demanding something permanently on our terms. Our words do have weight, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, Prov 18:21, but God alone is sovereign and His will is perfect. We do not command Him, we submit to Him, trusting that He knows what is best for us.
We also want to lovingly address a couple of phrases you used. You mentioned my grace I earned. Scripture teaches us that grace by definition cannot be earned, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast, Eph 2:8-9. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, James 1:17. We receive favor not because we earn it, but because He loves us and we walk in obedience through Christ. You also spoke of being in my energy and your family being in their own energy. As believers we do not look to an impersonal energy, but to the Holy Spirit who dwells in us and gives us life and peace, and we pray that distinction brings you comfort.
We love your heart for being highly favored, liked, loved, and for desiring a godly marriage. We affirm God's design for marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and we are encouraged that you are looking for a Boaz, a godly husband, rather than a relationship outside of God's will. We pray that if it is God's will, He will bring you a faithful Christian husband who will love you as Christ loves the church, and that your courtship would be pure and honoring to God, seeking marriage and not fornication. We also lift up your desire for provision, a vehicle and a full time job where you can use the gifts God has given you and be a good steward for your family and pets. We are reminded to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, Matt 6:33, and to delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart, Psalm 37:4.
We also hear your deep longing for no more sorrow and no more watering eyes, and for protection from the sting of the enemy like a scorpion's tail. The Lord sees your tears and He cares for you deeply. He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more, neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more, Rev 21:4. Jesus also says, Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you, Luke 10:19. We cast all our worries on Him because He cares for us, 1 Peter 5:7.
So we pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one, her family, and even her pets to You. We ask that You help her to walk in obedience and humility before You, that she may know what it truly means to be the head and not the tail through Christ, living above the power of sin and walking in wisdom and favor. Forgive us where we have tried to earn grace or speak blessings by our own power, and teach us to trust Your perfect will. Lord, we ask for Your provision for a good full time job and for reliable transportation according to Your will, and for a godly husband, a Boaz, if it is Your plan for her, a marriage that honors You and is built on purity and lifelong commitment. We ask for joy and peace in her home, that sorrow would be lifted and tears would be dried, and that You would guard her and her family from the sting of the enemy. Let her find rest in Your grace, which is a free gift through the blood of Jesus, and let her know she is greatly loved and highly favored not by earning it, but because she is Your child through faith in Christ. We trust all these things to Your loving and sovereign hands. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
