Having difficulty in defeating lust and stress, depression, anxiety, disciplined

We understand the heavy burdens you are carrying—lust, stress, depression, anxiety, lack of discipline, and financial struggles—and we want you to know that you are not alone in this fight. These battles are real, and the enemy seeks to weigh you down, but we serve a God who is greater than all these things. The Scriptures remind us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* This promise applies to every struggle you are facing, including the sin of lust, which is a common but dangerous snare for many.

First, let us address the sin of lust, as it is a serious matter before the Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 5:28, *"But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart."* Lust is not just a struggle—it is sin, and it must be confronted with repentance and the power of the Holy Spirit. You cannot overcome it in your own strength, but through Christ, you can crucify these fleshly desires. Galatians 5:16-17 tells us, *"Walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire."* You must flee from temptation (1 Corinthians 6:18) and fill your mind with what is pure and honorable (Philippians 4:8). This may mean cutting off access to things that fuel lust—whether it’s certain media, relationships, or habits. Ask God to renew your mind (Romans 12:2) and give you a hatred for sin. True freedom comes when we surrender these areas to Christ and allow Him to transform us.

As for stress, depression, and anxiety, these too are battles that must be fought with the Word of God and prayer. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:25-34 not to be anxious, for our Heavenly Father knows our needs. *"Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient."* Cast your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Depression and anxiety often stem from a lack of trust in God’s sovereignty or from dwelling on circumstances rather than His promises. Fill your heart with Scripture, worship, and prayer. Psalm 34:17-18 says, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not abandoned; God is near to you even now.

The lack of discipline you mention is also a spiritual issue. Discipline is a fruit of the Spirit’s work in us, and without it, we easily fall into sin and chaos. Proverbs 25:28 says, *"Like a city that is broken down and without walls is a man whose spirit is without restraint."* Ask God to help you cultivate discipline through His strength. Start small—set aside time for prayer and Bible reading daily, even if it’s just a few minutes. Create structure in your day, and ask the Lord to help you steward your time, resources, and energy well. Discipline is not about legalism but about love for God and a desire to honor Him in all areas of life.

Financial struggles are another area where we must trust God completely. He is our Provider, and He knows our needs. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This doesn’t mean wealth, but it does mean that God will give you what you need to serve Him and live righteously. Seek His wisdom in managing what you have (Proverbs 3:9-10), and trust that He will guide you. Avoid the trap of comparing yourself to others or seeking financial security apart from God. Instead, ask Him to provide opportunities for work, wisdom in stewardship, and contentment in all circumstances (1 Timothy 6:6-8).

Finally, we must address something critical: your prayer request did not invoke the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, and there is no salvation or power apart from Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in Acts 4:12, we read, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, turn from them, and place your faith in Him alone. It is only through His blood that we are forgiven, and it is only in His name that we have access to the throne of God. If you are already a believer, then we encourage you to always pray in His name, for it is through Him that our prayers are heard.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before You, knowing that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. Lord, we ask that You break the chains of lust in his life. Convict him deeply of this sin, and grant him repentance that leads to life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in purity and flee from temptation. Renew his mind, Lord, and give him a heart that longs for holiness above all else. We rebuke the enemy’s hold over him in this area and declare freedom in the name of Jesus Christ.

Father, we also ask that You lift the heavy burdens of stress, depression, and anxiety from his shoulders. Remind him that You are sovereign over all things and that You hold his future in Your hands. Fill him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and help him to cast every care upon You. Heal his heart, Lord, and restore his joy in You. Let him find his strength in You alone.

We pray for discipline to take root in his life—not in his own strength, but through the power of Your Spirit. Help him to steward his time, his mind, and his resources in a way that honors You. Give him the wisdom to make godly choices each day and the perseverance to follow through.

Lord, we ask that You provide for his financial needs. Open doors for work, give him wisdom in managing what he has, and protect him from the love of money. Help him to trust You completely, knowing that You are his Provider and that You will never leave him nor forsake him.

Most importantly, Father, we pray that he would walk closely with You. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, we ask that You draw him to Yourself today. Let him see his need for a Savior and turn to You in faith. And if he is already Your child, strengthen his faith and help him to pray always in the name of Jesus, for it is the only name by which we are saved.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust that You are at work in his life, conforming him to the image of Your Son. May he find hope, strength, and victory in You alone. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're right here with you, friend. It's tough carrying the weight of lust, stress, depression, anxiety, lack of discipline, and financial struggles. But remember, you're not alone. We're here to lift you up in prayer and remind you that God is faithful and greater than all these things.

Let's tackle these one by one. First, lust. It's a tough battle, but it's not an impossible one. Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 that even looking at someone with lust in your heart is adultery. That's serious, but it's also a reminder that we need to turn away from it. Flee from temptation, fill your mind with pure and honorable things, and ask God to renew your mind. It's not about perfection, but about progress. Surrender these areas to Christ, and let Him transform you.

Stress, depression, and anxiety are real, and they can be overwhelming. But God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Trust in Him, cast your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Fill your heart with Scripture, worship, and prayer. God is near to those who have a broken heart and saves those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18).
