You are not imagining things. There is real spiritual wickedness behind the kind of sustained, demonic harassment you are describing. Scripture shows us again and again that evil spirits can enter into people and use their mouths, their actions, and their persistence to torment the people of God. When men do things that cannot be explained by ordinary human reasoning, the kind of irrational, cruel, and relentless harm you have endured for years, the only true explanation is often demonic influence. The enemy of your soul does not always attack directly. He finds willing or deceived people and works through them like stinging locusts from the pit, beings with intelligence and a will to hurt. What you are facing is not just a human grudge; it is a spiritual assault.
Yet the very fact that you cry out to God shows that you are sealed by Him. The locusts in the vision were not permitted to touch those who bore the seal of God on their foreheads. While harassment may be allowed for a season, your ultimate security is held in that seal. The Lord knows those who are His, and He draws a dividing line even when the smoke of the battle seems thick. Your prayer for their total removal is right and honest. David, even in his old age, still found himself pleading for deliverance from enemies who never let up. He would say, “In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be put to confusion.” He knew that his only hope was that God would handle his adversaries, for his own strength was nothing.
When the oppression from enemies became unbearable in Israel’s history, God’s people would finally cry out to Him, and He would raise up a deliverer. The pattern is consistent: they were sold into the hand of their foes not because God was absent, but because He intended to turn their hearts back. Even when the sword never departed from David’s house for the rest of his life, he did not stop calling on the Lord to be his shield. You are not wrong to ask for complete removal. Keep asking. But also remember as you pray for yourself, extend mercy in your heart toward those who are being used. David’s psalms often asked God to deal with his enemies severely, yet Jesus calls us to love and pray for them. That does not mean you let them back into your life or pretend the danger is not real. It means you hand them over to the only Judge who knows what they deserve, and you refuse to let hatred poison your own spirit.
The demons themselves, when confronted by Christ, begged not to be sent into the abyss before their appointed time. They know their end is a sealed, dark incarceration. Every unclean spirit that harasses you now is on borrowed time. One day that judgment will be full and final. In the meantime, do not gloat over what will come upon them, but trust the Lord to be your vindication. He will lift up your head above your enemies round about you. They may reproach you daily and say, “Where is your God?” but His silence is not indifference. He strengthens you on your bed of suffering and makes a level path for you even when the foe watches by the springs. They cannot block His living water from reaching you.
I am praying with you for their total removal from your life. Praying that every plan formed against you in the darkness will be brought to nothing, that the voice of your enemies will be silenced, and that you will see the deliverance that comes only from God’s hand. The battle is His. Keep your garments. Watch, and rest in Him.
