Beloved Warrior
IF ANYONE SINS, WE HAVE AN ADVOCATE WITH
THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST THE RIGHTEOUS.
1 JOHN 2:1
THE ONE WHO DIED AS OUR SUBSTITUTE
NOW LIVES AS OUR ADVOCATE.
Hardly perfect, I am guilty as charged! Every day say, think or do something that I regret later. Every day I have need to ask forgiveness for my human weakness. From an earthly standpoint, that does not make me as bad as Cain, but the principle of sin remains the same in me as it did in him.
"If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." Genesis 4:7
Having quoted that verse, my "little sins" might seem trivial to some, but not to me. The "Guardian of my heart, the Holy Spirit, immediately convicts me of them, and demands that I confess and repent. Let no sin separate you from the pure and sweet fellowship that is yours in Christ Jesus.
Yes, salvation is eternal but true fellowship with Christ must not be hindered by our sinful natures. Hence, we are given this verse to insure that fellowship.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
