Disciple of Prayer
Lord thank you for my job I'm going to start. Lord I worry I cant do it or have the breath to do it , Lord let it all be good and glorify you Lord. Let me have the confidence and endurance to do it in Jesus name! Lord let me step aside and let you do , in my finances and health my diet as I have gained so much weight, Lord let me have the mind set to loose weight in Jesus name!

We hear your heart, and we join you in lifting this new season before the Lord. It’s beautiful to see your desire to glorify God in your work, your health, and every area of your life. The concerns you’ve shared—about confidence, endurance, finances, and your physical well-being—are valid, but we know that our strength comes not from ourselves but from Christ who strengthens us.

First, let’s address your worry about being able to do this job. Scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:13, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* This isn’t just a comforting verse; it’s a promise. The Lord has already equipped you for what He’s called you to. Your breath, your ability, your very life—it all belongs to Him. When you feel overwhelmed, remember that it’s not about your sufficiency but His. We pray that you would lean into His strength daily, trusting that He will sustain you.

You also asked the Lord to help you step aside and let Him work in your finances and health. This is a powerful prayer! Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Surrendering these areas to God requires humility and faith, but it’s where true peace is found. Whether it’s budgeting, making wise financial decisions, or choosing healthier habits, invite the Holy Spirit to guide you. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and caring for it is an act of worship. We rebuke the spirit of laziness or complacency that may have contributed to weight gain, and we declare discipline and self-control over your life, as these are fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

Now, let’s talk about your weight and diet. While it’s good to desire health, we must guard our hearts against vanity or worldly standards of appearance. 1 Samuel 16:7 reminds us, *"For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart."* That said, stewardship of our bodies is biblical. We encourage you to seek balance—nourishing your body with wholesome foods, staying active, and doing it all for God’s glory, not out of fear or pride. If this is an area of struggle, ask the Lord to reveal any emotional or spiritual roots, such as stress-eating or using food as a comfort. We pray for wisdom and self-control in this journey.

We also want to gently remind you of the power in the name of Jesus. You closed your prayer "in Jesus’ name," and that is so important. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6). If you haven’t already, we encourage you to make sure your relationship with Jesus is personal and saving. Romans 10:9 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* Salvation isn’t just about saying a prayer; it’s about surrendering your life to Christ and walking in obedience to Him. If you’ve never made that decision, we urge you to do so today.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for this new opportunity You’ve given. Lord, we ask that You would go before [###] in this job, giving them confidence, wisdom, and endurance. Strengthen them when they feel weak, and remind them that their sufficiency comes from You alone. We declare that this work will glorify You, Father, and that You will use it for Your purposes.

Lord, we also lift up their finances and health to You. We ask that You would give them discipline and self-control, especially in their diet and physical activity. Help them to see their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit and to care for it accordingly. We rebuke any spirit of laziness or complacency, and we declare that they will walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has already won for them.

Father, we pray for a heart of surrender. Help them to step aside and let You lead in every area of their life. Give them the mind of Christ and the peace that surpasses all understanding. And Lord, if they haven’t already, we pray that they would make their relationship with You personal and saving. Draw them closer to You, and let them experience the fullness of life in Christ.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Amen.

You are not alone in this journey. The Lord is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him, and remember that every step of obedience is a step toward the abundant life He has promised. If you ever feel overwhelmed, turn to His Word, seek godly counsel, and surround yourself with believers who can encourage you. You’ve got this—not because of your own strength, but because He who called you is faithful.

Hey there,

We're here with you, cheering you on as you step into this new job. It's amazing to see your heart's desire to honor God in all aspects of your life, from your work to your health. We want you to know that you're not alone in your concerns about confidence, endurance, finances, and your physical well-being. God sees you, and He's got this!

First off, let's tackle that worry about being able to do this job. Remember what Paul said in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"? That's not just a nice verse to hang on the wall; it's a promise! God has already equipped you with everything you need to step into this role. It's not about your sufficiency, but His. So, let's lean into His strength together, trusting that He will sustain you each day.

You also asked God to step in and handle your finances and health. That's a powerful prayer! Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." Surrendering these areas to God requires faith and humility, but it's where true peace is found. Whether it's budgeting, making wise financial decisions, or choosing healthier habits, let's invite the Holy Spirit to guide us. Remember, your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and caring for it is an act of worship.

Now, let's talk about your weight and diet. While it's great to desire health, let's guard our hearts against vanity or worldly standards of appearance. 1 Samuel 16:7 reminds us, "For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart." If this is an area of struggle, let's ask God to reveal any emotional or spiritual roots, like stress-eating or using food as a comfort. We're praying for wisdom and self-control in this journey.

Lastly, we want to remind you of the power in the name of Jesus. You ended your prayer with "in Jesus' name," and that's so important. There's no other name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6). If you haven't already, make sure your relationship with Jesus is personal and saving. Romans 10:9 tells us, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Keep shining your light, friend! We're cheering you on every step of the way.
