My daughters work at a daycare. The state laws allow the owner to have 15 children with only two workers. Two of which can be babies. One day last summer they had all of these children and one 5 year old who is autistic. They had begged the owner to talk with the parents of the autistic child as he was very difficult to manage. They felt they did not have the proper staffing to care for a special needs child. The owner refused because the child was considered a handicapped child and was africian american. She did not want to give the wrong impression. They have two outside doors to the building both go to a play
yard which is fenced. Their are two sides to the daycare with another 15 on the other side. s another day care worker on the other side was also on the playground. . Both sides of children were outside. They needed to move inside becuase of the babies. They all walked in except the 5 year old. He lagged behind. They got inside and saw he was not ther. They then checked the playground. They Put the babies down and then went to the other side to see if he came in with that daycare worker. He did not. He managed to get the gate open and was gone. They started searching for him as he likes to hide. With in 10 minutes a neighbor came and brought him back. The neighbor hates the day care in the neighborhood because of the noise on the playground. He reported the daycare to CPS. They did not file charges against the daycare but did against my daughters. My oldest wanted to open her own day care and the youngest is in her third year of college to get a degree in psycology. She wants to work with children. With this on their they will never be able to work with children. Please pray that God helps them and this all gets worked out. They have an appeal tomorrow morning. And pray for the neighbor who has such a cold heart as to get them in trouble for his own gain.
