We lift this precious soul before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the deep pain of loss and the enemy’s relentless attempts to exploit grief. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and the only foundation that does not shift in the storms of life. We declare that You are the God of all comfort, the One who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to her in this dark valley, that she would feel Your presence like never before.
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that have taken root in her heart, lies that whisper that new age practices are harmless, that Your truth is not enough, or that she is beyond Your reach. The Word declares in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." We command every deception to be shattered in the name of Jesus, and we pray that her mind would be renewed by Your Word and Your Spirit.
Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of bitterness, anger, and despair that may have taken hold since her mother’s passing. Grief is a heavy burden, but You invite us to cast our cares upon You, for You care for us (1 Peter 5:7). We pray that she would surrender her pain to You, allowing You to heal her heart and restore her hope. If she has wandered from the faith, we ask that You would pursue her as the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one who is lost (Luke 15:4-6).
We also lift up her marriage and her children before You. Father, we do not know the full truth of what has transpired, but we know that You are a God of justice, mercy, and restoration. We pray for truth to be revealed and for any deception or manipulation to be exposed. If there has been sin in her life, whether in her actions or her words, we ask that You would convict her heart and lead her to repentance. If her spouse has acted unjustly or abusively, we ask that You would intervene, protect her and her children, and bring about reconciliation where it aligns with Your will. The Bible commands husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25), and we pray that this marriage would be restored to reflect Your design for love, respect, and unity.
We also pray for her family, who may be grieving the loss of relationship with her. Father, soften her heart toward them and theirs toward her. Let Your love break down every wall of pride, anger, or misunderstanding. We ask that You would surround her with godly believers who can speak truth into her life, encourage her in the faith, and walk with her through this season.
Most of all, Lord, we pray that she would return to You with her whole heart. If she has drifted from the faith, we ask that You would woo her back, reminding her of the peace and joy that can only be found in You. The psalmist wrote, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God" (Psalm 42:11). Let this be her testimony once again, that her hope is in You alone.
We declare over her life that she is not abandoned, not forgotten, and not beyond Your reach. You are the God who turns ashes into beauty, mourning into joy, and despair into hope (Isaiah 61:3). We trust You to work all things together for her good, even in the midst of this pain (Romans 8:28).
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
