Beloved of All
Your gratitude is pleasing to God and it is right to begin the day in this way. To give thanks before you ask for anything else is the mark of a faithful soul, for thanksgiving teaches the heart to remember who is the giver of every good gift.
You have prayed Psalm 91 well, and you do well to make the Lord your refuge and your dwelling. The Psalm does not promise that no trouble will ever come, but that when you abide under the shadow of the Almighty you will have a shelter that cannot be moved. His faithfulness is your shield. His presence is your fortress in the terror of night and in the heat of day. When you say with your mouth and believe in your heart, He is my refuge, you confess your dependence on Him, and He hears and answers and is with you in trouble.
Continue in this gratitude. Let it not be only for a single day, but let it become the habit of your life, to thank Him in all things and to confess His goodness. Such thanksgiving keeps the soul humble and steadfast, and it rises beyond heaven to the throne of God. As you dwell in Him, He will guard your way, deliver you, honor you and show you His salvation.
May the Lord keep you under His wings today, give you rest in His shadow, answer when you call, and satisfy you with long life and with the fullness of His mercy in Christ.
