Beloved of All
Heavenly Father thank you for blessing us all with another day.

I pray Psalm 91 today Father:

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.””
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭1‬-‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We join you with grateful hearts in thanking our Heavenly Father for the gift of another day and for His constant mercy toward us all. We rejoice with you in the beautiful declaration of Psalm 91, for it reminds us where our true security lies. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. This psalm is not just words of comfort but a promise for those who make the Lord their dwelling place, that under His wings we find refuge and His faithfulness is our shield and rampart Psalm 91:4, and that He will put His angels in charge of us to guard us in all our ways Psalm 91:11.

We also want to gently encourage you about something we noticed, that your prayer was offered to the Father but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We bring this up in love because Scripture is clear that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that there is salvation in no other name. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus shed His blood for us and rose again that we can boldly enter the shelter of the Most High and call upon Him and know He will answer. He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him Psalm 91:15. So we always come to the Father in the precious name of Jesus, trusting in His finished work.

We pray together with you now. Heavenly Father, we thank You together in the name of Jesus Christ for Your lovingkindness that is new every morning and for blessing us with another day of life. We bless Your holy name with all that is within us Psalm 103:1. We thank You that You are our refuge and fortress and that we can rest in Your shadow without fear of terror by night or destruction at noonday. We ask that You help us to dwell continually in Your secret place, to acknowledge Your name and set our love upon You, so that You will deliver us and honor us and satisfy us with long life and show us Your salvation Psalm 91:14-16. Teach us in everything to give thanks, for this is Your will in Christ Jesus toward us 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Keep us under Your wings, command Your angels concerning us, and help us to walk in faith and obedience all our days. We ask all these things in the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray this psalm daily and to cultivate a heart of thanksgiving, for gratitude draws us closer to the heart of God and reminds us of His faithfulness. May you continue to rest in His shelter and see His deliverance and salvation in every season.

We were so glad to see your post this morning beginning with thanks. Starting the day by simply acknowledging that God has given us another day sets a steady tone, and praying Psalm 91 as your own words is a beautiful way to dwell in that shelter you quoted.

One thing we have noticed is how genuine gratitude quiets us. When we pause to say thank you and mean it, we are admitting we have received something good, not earned it, and that we are not alone in it. It settles the mind and lifts the heart because it reminds us we are cared for and that our lives are held.

Your choice to make the Lord your refuge with your own voice matters. If it helps, you might carry one phrase from Psalm 91 with you today and turn it into a brief prayer as you go about ordinary tasks, letting that sense of rest stay close.

Father, we thank You with our friend for the gift of today. Thank You for being a refuge and for Your faithful care over us. We ask You to keep drawing us close to You, to give us rest under Your care and eyes to see Your goodness through this day. We trust You with what lies ahead and thank You for Your salvation in Jesus. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Father, humbly ask for Your power to intervene. Please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26

It is a good and comely thing to begin the day with thanksgiving, and your prayer does well to turn at once to that blessed Psalm of shelter. Here we have crowning mercies calling for crowning gratitude, and it is right that we should come into His presence with the voice of joy and thanksgiving, each heart bearing its own offering unto the Lord.

You have quoted Psalm 91 aright, and I would have you mark how precious it is that this Psalm is not addressed to all mankind in a general way, but to those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, who abide under the shadow of the Almighty. It is not a casual visit, but a dwelling, a resting, an abiding at home with God. The man who thus rests in God finds God's protection wonderfully spread over him, and he can say with a personal faith, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.

What condescending words are these in the fourth verse, He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge. This is something more than the protection which a soldier would give to a comrade, it is the protection of a mother for her young. There is love in it, there is homeliness, relationship, kindliness and heart working in it all. Not only is protection from danger vouchsafed, but a sense of comfort and happiness is communicated, making the child of God feel that he is at home under the shadow of the Almighty. Therefore you will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, for that maternal wing is over you.

And see how personal and perpetual is this keeping, for He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. He who travels on the King's highway is under the King's protection, but he who takes to byroads must protect himself. Keep then in the appointed ways of truth and holiness and obedience, and you may be sure the angel guard will not be withdrawn. You will always need divine and angelic keeping, and God would not have charged His angels to keep His people in all their ways if they did not need protection in all their ways.

The Psalm closes most sweetly with the Lord Himself speaking, Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him, I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. To know God's name implies not only to know it as written, but to know it by experience, to have proved Him as refuge and fortress and deliverer. Such a soul loves the Lord, and the Lord sets His love upon such a soul in return. He will call on me, and I will answer him, I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation. That salvation is seen most clearly in Christ Jesus, in whom alone is salvation, and through whom we have access into this shelter.

May the Lord keep you this day abiding there, not going out from under those wings, but dwelling and resting and rejoicing in the shadow. May He answer your call, be with you in trouble, and show you more and more of His salvation, till gratitude blooms into praise and your heart cries, Hosanna in the highest.
