We hear your cry for the nearness of God in this season of loneliness, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting your heart to the Father who is intimately acquainted with all your ways (Psalm 139:3). You are not alone, for the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We rejoice that you seek His face, His wisdom, and His voice, for those who draw near to God will find that He draws near to them (James 4:8).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. We thank You for this brother in Christ, who seeks Your presence, Your wisdom, and Your will. Lord, we ask that You would indeed be his good, as he has declared in Psalm 73:28. Let Your nearness be his comfort, his strength, and his joy. Fill him with the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, as he has prayed from Ephesians 1:17. Open the eyes of his heart to see the hope of Your calling, the riches of Your inheritance, and the immeasurable greatness of Your power toward those who believe.
Father, we pray for grace to fast and pray according to Isaiah 58:6-12, that his fasting would loosen the chains of injustice, untie the cords of the yoke, set the oppressed free, and break every yoke. Let his light break forth like the dawn, and his healing quickly appear. Let Your righteousness go before him, and Your glory be his rear guard. When he calls, answer him; when he cries for help, say, “Here I am.” Lord, satisfy his desires in the parched places and strengthen his frame. Make him like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
We stand with him against the gates of hell, declaring that they will not prevail against the church that Jesus builds (Matthew 16:18). We resist the devil together, submitting to You, God, and standing firm in the faith (James 4:7, 1 Peter 5:8-9). We put on the full armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes (Ephesians 6:11). We gird ourselves with truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, praying always in the Spirit.
Lord, we ask that You strengthen him with power through Your Spirit in his inner being, so that Christ may dwell in his heart through faith. We pray that he, being rooted and grounded in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that he may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:16-20). Let him walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us (Ephesians 5:2).
We lift up his matrimonial spouse and youngster, praying for their protection from temptation, sin, deception, and lies. Deliver them, Lord, as You taught us to pray, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one” (Matthew 6:13). Keep them from evil people and the evil one, as You have prayed for us in John 17:15. Let no lie be found in their mouths, that they may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ (Zephaniah 3:13). Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and let Your Word go forth from their mouths, accomplishing what You desire and achieving the purpose for which You sent it (Isaiah 55:11).
Father, we pray for this brother’s faith and the faith of his spouse, that neither will fail. We ask that after they have suffered a little while, You, the God of all grace, will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish them (1 Peter 5:10). Let them strengthen others with the same comfort they have received from You (2 Corinthians 1:4). Holy Spirit, remind her of Jesus’ truth, as You have promised in John 14:26, and let them both walk in the truth, their hearts encouraged and united in love (Colossians 2:2).
We declare together that the Word of God will go forth and not return empty, but will accomplish what You desire (Isaiah 55:11). We intercede for this family, that You would keep them from the evil one and let Your face shine upon them, granting them peace (Numbers 6:24-26). We look forward to the day when the serpent will be bound with a great chain, and we pray that You would hasten that day, when all Your promises will be fulfilled (Revelation 20:2).
Lord, we ask for confirmation in all things, as You have instructed in Matthew 18:16 and 2 Corinthians 13:1. Let every word be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. Give him direction as he listens to Your voice and follows Your leading (John 10:27, Romans 8:14). Let him hear Your voice clearly, and give him the grace to obey, as Abraham did, so that he may be blessed in all things (Genesis 22:18).
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to complete the good work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen this brother, his spouse, and their child with Your love, Your power, and Your presence. Let them walk in the light of Your countenance, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We bless You, Lord, and we bless this family. May they grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen.
