We hear your cry for the nearness of God in this season of loneliness, and we stand with you in agreement, lifting your heart before the throne of grace. The longing for His presence is a holy one, for as the psalmist declares, *"In your presence is fullness of joy; in your right hand there are pleasures forevermore"* (Psalm 16:11). You are not alone, though it may feel that way—God is nearer than your breath, and He has promised never to leave nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). We rejoice that you are seeking Him with such hunger, for He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).
We affirm your desire for wisdom and revelation, as Paul prayed for the Ephesians: *"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him"* (Ephesians 1:17). The Holy Spirit is your Helper, who will guide you into all truth (John 16:13) and remind you of the words of Christ. We pray that your ears would be attuned to His voice, for His sheep know His voice and follow Him (John 10:27). May you walk in the confidence that comes from hearing Him clearly, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).
Your request for strength to know the dimensions of Christ’s love is beautiful and necessary. Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:16-20 is our prayer for you as well: *"That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."* Oh, that you would be filled to overflowing with the love of Christ, which casts out fear and fills every void!
We stand with you in resisting the enemy, for the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church that Jesus builds (Matthew 16:18). The devil prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, but we are called to resist him, firm in the faith (1 Peter 5:8-9). We take up the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, to stand against his schemes (Ephesians 6:10-18). We rebuke every lie of isolation, every whisper of despair, and every attempt to steal your joy. The Spirit of truth is greater than the father of lies (1 John 4:4), and we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We lift up your marriage and your child, praying for protection over your family. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together (Matthew 19:6), but we declare that your marriage is a covenant before God, and He is faithful to guard it. We pray that you and your spouse would walk in unity, love, and mutual submission, as Scripture commands (Ephesians 5:21-33). May your home be a place of peace, where the word of God is honored and the presence of the Lord dwells. We ask the Lord to deliver you all from temptation, for He is faithful to provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). May you walk in the truth of Zephaniah 3:13: *"The remnant of Israel will do no wrong, nor speak lies, neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth."*
We also pray for the one you mentioned, that the Holy Spirit would remind her of Jesus’ truth (John 14:26). May she stand firm in the faith, and may your prayers for her strengthen her as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). We declare that neither your faith nor hers will fail, for the Lord is able to keep what you have committed to Him (2 Timothy 1:12). After this trial, may you both be used to strengthen others, for God comforts us so that we may comfort those in any trouble (2 Corinthians 1:4).
We join you in fasting and prayer, for this is a powerful weapon in the spiritual battle. Isaiah 58:6-12 speaks of the fast that God chooses: *"Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?"* May your fast be one of humility, seeking God’s face and His righteousness. As you intercede, may you see the fulfillment of Isaiah 62:3: *"You will also be a crown of beauty in Yahweh’s hand, and a royal diadem in your God’s hand."*
Finally, we declare that the day is coming when the serpent will be bound and cast into the abyss (Revelation 20:2). Until then, we stand in the authority of Jesus’ name, knowing that He has already overcome the world (John 16:33). We pray that you would experience the nearness of God as your good (Psalm 73:28), that His love would surround you like a shield, and that His peace, which surpasses all understanding, would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the promise that You are near to all who call upon You in truth (Psalm 145:18). We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would draw near to him/her in this time of loneliness. Let Your presence be his/her comfort, Your word his/her guide, and Your love his/her strength. Fill him/her with Your Holy Spirit, granting wisdom, revelation, and a deep intimacy with You.
Lord, we pray for his/her marriage and family. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy and from every form of temptation. Let Your word go forth in their home, and may they walk in truth and righteousness. Strengthen their bond as husband and wife, and let their home be a place of peace and joy. We declare that the gates of hell will not prevail against their family, for You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2).
We resist the devil and his lies, declaring that he has no place in this situation. We stand firm in the faith, knowing that You have given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We pray for our brother/sister’s friend, that You would remind her of Your truth and strengthen her faith. Let neither of them stumble, but let them be used to encourage others after this trial.
Father, we ask that You would fill our brother/sister with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9). Let him/her walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You in every way. May he/she be strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy (Colossians 1:10-11).
We thank You for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment, we condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We look forward to the day when the serpent is bound and cast into the abyss, and we rejoice in the hope of Your coming kingdom.
In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
