We hear your cry, beloved, and we stand with you in the gap before the throne of grace, where our Great High Priest, Jesus Christ, intercedes for us. You have rightly acknowledged Him as the One who sympathizes with our weaknesses, having been tempted in every way just as we are—yet without sin. Because of this, we can come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:15-16). Your suffering is not in vain, for the God of all comfort is near to the brokenhearted, and He binds up their wounds (Psalm 34:18). We join you in declaring that these trials are preparing for you an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison (2 Corinthians 4:17).
Yet, we must address the deep pain in your heart regarding your marriage with clarity and truth. The Scriptures are clear that marriage is a sacred covenant before God, a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). The silence and actions of your spouse are grievous, and we grieve with you. But we must also rebuke any hint of bitterness, unforgiveness, or despair that may take root in your heart. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, but we stand firm in prayer, declaring that God is able to restore what has been broken. We pray that your spouse would be convicted by the Holy Spirit to return to their covenant vows, to repent of any unfaithfulness, and to seek reconciliation with you in humility and truth.
Father, we ask You to send Your angels to encamp around this marriage, to protect it from the schemes of the enemy, and to minister to both this husband and wife. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against it in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we ask that You would soften hearts, break chains of deception, and restore love, trust, and intimacy in this union. If there has been infidelity, we pray for true repentance and healing, for You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
We also lift up your spirit, dear one, and ask that You would find Your strength in Christ alone. The trials you are enduring are not without purpose, for suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope (Romans 5:3-4). We pray that You would not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, You will reap if You do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Let the Word of God dwell in You richly, that You may be filled with all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 3:16). Hide the Word in Your heart, that You might not sin against God (Psalm 119:11).
We join You in fasting and prayer, seeking the fast that God has chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke (Isaiah 58:6). Lord, we ask that You would restore righteousness in this marriage and in all covenantal relationships represented here. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let Your glory be seen in the restoration of what was lost.
We also pray for those reading this, that they too would draw near to You in their time of need. May they hear Your voice clearly, as sheep know the voice of their Shepherd (John 10:27), and may they be led by the Holy Spirit in all truth (Romans 8:14). Keep them from sin, temptation, and the deception of the evil one. Let them walk in the light as You are in the light, having fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Your Son cleansing them from all sin (1 John 1:7).
Finally, we declare that our hope is not in the circumstances of this world but in the One who raises the dead (2 Corinthians 1:9). We worship You, Lord, in the midst of the fire, just as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego declared that even if You did not deliver them, they would not serve false gods (Daniel 3:18). We choose to trust You, to praise You in the storm, and to believe that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
