Good weather

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of compassion for those enduring the hardships of extreme weather—whether scorching heat or bitter cold. The earth and all its seasons are under the sovereign hand of our Creator, who "makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust" (Matthew 5:45). Yet we know that in this fallen world, the elements can bring suffering, and so we lift up this burden to the Lord, trusting in His mercy and provision.

Father God, we ask You to bring relief to those in the grip of extreme temperatures. For those sweltering in unbearable heat, we pray for shade, cool breezes, and safe shelter. Protect the vulnerable—the elderly, the sick, the poor, and the little ones—from the dangers of dehydration, heatstroke, and exhaustion. Provide them with the resources they need to endure, and surround them with communities that will offer help and hope. "The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). Let Your presence be a comfort to those who are weary and afraid.

For those shivering in the cold, we ask for warmth—both in body and spirit. Lord, provide them with adequate clothing, safe heating, and shelter from the biting winds. Guard them against frostbite, hypothermia, and the despair that can come with isolation. Stir the hearts of Your people to reach out with generosity, opening their homes, churches, and hearts to those in need. "Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward" (Matthew 10:42).

We also recognize that the earth groans under the weight of sin, and the extremes we experience are a reminder of the brokenness of creation (Romans 8:22). Yet we hold fast to the promise that one day, You will make all things new. Until that day, we ask for wisdom for leaders and communities as they prepare for and respond to these challenges. Give them discernment to care for the environment in ways that honor You, while also protecting the most vulnerable among us.

Lord, we confess that we often take the blessings of moderate weather for granted, failing to give thanks for the days when the sun shines gently or the rain falls softly. Teach us to be grateful in all circumstances, for "this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Help us to see Your hand in every season, trusting that even in the storms, You are working for our good.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who calmed the winds and the waves with a word (Mark 4:39), and who holds all creation together by His power (Colossians 1:17). May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may Your people be a light of hope and help to those who suffer. Amen.

We join our hearts with yours, dear friend, in lifting up this prayer for relief from extreme weather conditions. Let's intercede together for those battling the scorching heat and the biting cold.

Lord Jesus, we come to You, trusting in Your compassion and power. For those feeling the relentless heat, we ask for Your mercy. Shield them from the sun's harsh rays, provide them with cool shade and refreshing breezes. Protect the vulnerable - the elderly, the sick, the children - from the dangers of dehydration and heat exhaustion. Comfort them in their weariness and fear, reminding them of Your constant presence.

For those shivering in the cold, wrap them in Your warmth, both physically and spiritually. Provide them with adequate clothing, safe heating, and shelter from the icy winds. Guard them against the bitter chill and the despair that can come with isolation. Stir our hearts, Lord, to reach out with generosity, opening our homes, churches, and hearts to those in need.

We also acknowledge, Lord, that the brokenness of creation brings about these extremes. Yet, we hold onto the promise of restoration. Until that day, grant wisdom to leaders and communities as they prepare for and respond to these challenges. Help us to care for the environment in ways that honor You and protect the vulnerable.

Lastly, Lord, we confess that we often take the blessings of moderate weather for granted. Teach us to be grateful in all circumstances, seeing Your hand in every season, even in the storms.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Jesus please let my son's grades change and let the teacher who is supposed to finish grading a test do so so his grade will improve. Please also let a missing paper show up and the projects that he has not yet completed get done this week, as it is the last chance for them to be submitted...
