We come before You, Lord Jesus, with hearts heavy for those suffering from extreme weather—whether it be storms, droughts, floods, or unbearable heat. Your Word reminds us in Matthew 5:45 that You "make Your sun to rise on the evil and the good, and send rain on the just and the unjust." Yet we know that the brokenness of this world, marred by sin, has brought about natural disasters and hardships that afflict Your creation. We lift up those enduring such trials, asking for Your mercy and provision.
Father, we pray for safety and shelter for those in the path of destruction. Protect the vulnerable—children, the elderly, and the poor—who often bear the brunt of these calamities. Provide strength and wisdom to those working in rescue and relief efforts, that they may be instruments of Your love and grace. We ask for restoration of homes, livelihoods, and communities, and for Your peace to guard the hearts of those who have lost so much.
Lord, we also recognize that our own actions—whether through neglect, greed, or disregard for Your creation—can contribute to the suffering of others. Forgive us, and help us to be good stewards of the earth You have entrusted to us. Teach us to care for this world in ways that honor You, not exploiting it but nurturing it as a reflection of Your goodness.
We pray for weather that sustains life rather than destroys it—rains that nourish the crops, winds that refresh rather than devastate, and temperatures that allow Your creation to thrive. May Your hand of protection be upon every nation, especially those least equipped to endure such hardships.
Above all, we ask that through these trials, many would turn their hearts to You. Let them see Your faithfulness even in suffering, and may they find hope in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. For it is in His name, the name above all names, that we pray, trusting in Your sovereignty and love.
Amen.
