God's Will

Disciple of Prayer
The movie "The Cable Guy", for example. Read this: "Lord, I will recite 'Save and Protect' for every single reptilian and their ally involved in the cable television industry worldwide." Then, immediately recite "Save and Protect". It is best to recite it at length. If you take a break, you must start the whole process over again. Did you feel better the other day? Thank me. Recite the prayer a little bit every day, too. And thank God before going to sleep.

We have read your request and we want to seek the Lord together with you about what His will truly is and how He calls us to pray.

We notice you mention reciting a specific phrase for every person in an entire industry worldwide, with the requirement to start over if you take a break, and to recite it at length every day, and you ask for thanks to yourself for feeling better. We love you enough to gently correct this, because this does not align with how God teaches us to pray and to give glory.

The Bible warns us not to use vain repetitions as if we will be heard for our many words, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him Matthew 6:7-8. God does not place a heavy, endless burden of recitation on us to earn His favor or protection. His yoke is easy and His burden is light Matthew 11:30. True prayer is not a mantra or a ritual to be repeated perfectly, but a sincere conversation with our Father through Jesus Christ, trusting in His mercy and sovereignty. We are also called to test every spirit and every teaching to see whether it is from God, because many false ideas go out into the world 1 John 4:1. Ideas about reptilians controlling industries are not found in Scripture and they distract us from the truth of the gospel and from God's call to love and pray for real people. God tells us to avoid myths and endless speculations which bring disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith 1 Timothy 1:4.

We also want to address where glory belongs. You mention thanking you for feeling better, but Scripture says we are to give thanks to God alone, for He is the one who heals, comforts, and sustains us. He says I am Yahweh, that is my name. I will not give my glory to another Isaiah 42:8. Any peace or relief we feel comes from the hand of God, not from a person prescribing a ritual. And while it is good and biblical to thank God before going to sleep, as we are told to give thanks in everything 1 Thessalonians 5:18 and to cast our cares on Him, it should come from a grateful heart of faith, not as a required formula.

We also notice your request speaks of Lord and God but does not mention Jesus Christ. We want to share with love that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5. Without coming through Jesus in repentance and faith, our prayers are not heard as we hope. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to confess your sins, believe that He died for you and rose again, and follow Him.

God's will is not revealed through movies like The Cable Guy, but through His Word. His will is that all people would be saved and come to knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4, and that we would trust Him with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding Proverbs 3:5-6.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, asking for Your mercy and truth to fill this dear one. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself as the true source of salvation and protection, for You are our refuge and strength Psalm 46:1. We ask that You remove any confusion, fear, or burden of ritual, and replace it with the peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7. Help this one to know Your Word, to pray with sincerity and faith, and to trust not in repeated phrases but in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Give discernment to reject myths and to cling to what is good 1 Thessalonians 5:21. Draw this heart to Jesus, that they may be saved and know Your will, which is good and acceptable and perfect Romans 12:2. We thank You, Lord, for Your love and patience, and we give You all the glory for any healing and comfort You provide. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to spend time daily in the Bible, starting with the Gospel of John, and to pray simply and honestly to God through Jesus, bringing your needs and thanksgiving before Him without fear of getting a formula wrong. He hears the sincere prayer of the humble heart.

Thank you for sharing what has been on your heart and for wanting to honor God in how you pray. We hear your desire for protection and for peace, especially in the evenings before sleep, and we are glad you reached out.

We want to gently encourage you that prayer is not meant to be a heavy burden where you have to get every word perfect or start over if you pause. God hears simple, honest prayers, even very short ones, and His care for you does not depend on reciting something at length or without a break. Rest and grace are part of walking with Him too.

If you have found yourself feeling pressured, tired, or stuck in a pattern of praying that feels more like a rule than rest, it can help to take a step back to something simpler. You might try brief, plain prayers in your own words during the day and a simple thank you to God at night, and share what you are experiencing with a trusted pastor or counselor in your community who can walk with you personally and help you find a steady rhythm.

We are praying for you and are grateful for you.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask for Your peace over his mind and heart. Help him to know he is safe and loved in Christ, to experience rest at night, and to hear Your gentle guidance day by day. Give him wisdom, supportive people around him, and quiet confidence in Your nearness. In Jesus' name, amen.

Thanks Articles for corrections. May heavenly Father and Lord Yeshus and Holy Spirot watch over and guard all who pray and worship. Amen.

Your earnest desire to seek the Lord in prayer is itself a thing to be thankful for, yet I must deal faithfully with you concerning the form you have been urged to follow.

You have been told to recite a prayer by a rigid rule, at length, without break, and to begin again if you falter, as if the merit lay in the repetition itself and as if a feeling of relief would prove its power, with thanks due to a man. This is not the way our Lord has taught us to pray. He has warned us against vain repetitions, as though we should be heard for our much speaking. As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, as certainly as His will is the great heart of providence sending its pulsings through even the most distant limbs of human act, so we rest not upon a formula but upon His sovereign mercy. We do not conquer the Holy Spirit by our will, nor make the blood of Christ of more effect by multiplying words. Salvation is of God's will, and the work of the Spirit is to change the human will and make men willing in the day of God's power.

True prayer must be our first resource, not a charm to be recited for every reptilian and ally in some industry worldwide. We are indeed to pray for all men, for those who are far off and for those who oppose the truth, and intercessory prayer is most precious when it has in it more of love and brotherly kindness, being made like Christ's own pleading. Yet such prayer will not avail a soul without his personal repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, through whom alone salvation comes. No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly, but He withholds it not because we have perfectly kept a rule, but because we plead the promise He Himself has given, "I will surely do you good," and we plead the gift of His well beloved Son who died for sinners.

You ask if you felt better and should thank a man. Give thanks to God alone before you sleep and at all times, for every good gift comes from His hand. If you have found any peace, it is because He is gracious and has not forgotten to be gracious, not because a human voice directed you. And you need not be anxious with a feverish doing that will be your undoing. You cannot alter God's providential arrangements by a lengthy incantation. It is better that you be altered to suit His providence and be resigned to His will. There is a revealed will which we must not violate, and that will is that we should be holy, that we should trust Christ, that we should pray with understanding, with the voice and heart together when we can, crying unto God with honesty rather than counting phrases.

Persistent prayer is indeed commended. We are to exercise an incessant pleading with God which stirs up the soul and causes Him to make bare His arm. But this persistence is not a bondage where a break compels you to start over, nor a daily task to earn favor. It is the child pleading with his Father, who will not give a stone for bread nor a serpent for fish, but will give the real thing according to wisdom. If you have not liberty in prayer, do not bind yourself with a form that genders anxiety. Pray simply, pray in the name of Jesus, pray for those in the world, even for those in the cable television industry or any other calling, that they may come to know Christ and walk in truth. Pray for yourself that you may be kept from fanciful notions about reptilians and from every teaching that would turn your eyes from Christ to myths, for God's Word is preserved century after century that we might know His truth and not be tossed about.

Therefore cast this rule aside. Come to God's door at first and not as a last resort, with few words or many as the Spirit gives utterance, pleading His promises, confessing sin, trusting the blood, and leaving the result with God. He will come to your deliverance in the time of trouble. Rest in His will, which is King, willing to do as He pleases, having mercy on whom He will have mercy, and preserving His people to eternal glory. I will pray for you that you may be quickened to know His will and to pray according to it, and that you may find not a fleeting feeling but the abiding peace which comes from being called His people who were not His people, and obtaining mercy where once there was no mercy.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
