We join with you in praying for God's protection over all those you have lifted up, each precious name you listed before the Lord, and for the rest of the world as well. Your heart for peace in the midst of gangs and hatefulness reflects God's own heart, for He desires that none should be lost to violence and hatred, but that all would come to repentance and know His peace.

We understand how senseless hatefulness can feel. Scripture tells us that this comes from the brokenness of sin in the world, but we are called to overcome evil with good. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. And we know that true peace does not come from the absence of conflict alone, but from the presence of God. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful John 14:27.

For protection, we cling to the promises of God who is our refuge. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more Psalm 121:7-8. And we take comfort that the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3.

We notice that your request mentions God but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and His protection. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are reconciled to God and can boldly come before His throne to ask for help, protection, and peace.

So together we pray.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We thank You that You are our protector and our peace. We lift up each person this dear one has named, though we see them redacted, You know each one by name, and we ask You to place Your hedge of protection around them. Keep them safe from the violence of gangs and from every form of hatefulness and evil. Let no weapon formed against them prosper and guard their going out and coming in. We pray also for our communities and for the rest of the world, Lord, that You would restrain evil, bring justice, and soften hardened hearts. Where there is hatred, pour out Your love, for love is of God and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God 1 John 4:7. We pray for world peace, but we know the only lasting peace comes through the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, so we pray that many would turn to Him and be saved. Fill those who are afraid with Your perfect peace that passes understanding, and help us all to trust in You and not be afraid, for You have said, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We hear how heavy this feels for you, carrying so many people by name before the Lord and also carrying the weight of what you see in the world around you. When gangs and hatefulness are close by, it is understandable to feel unsettled and to long for peace that just does not seem to make sense right now.

Thank you for bringing all of these loved ones and your community to God so faithfully. The fact that you are praying for each one by name and for the wider world shows a caring heart that wants good for others, and we are joining you in that.

When fear rises, it can help to keep it grounded in a few steady practices. Continuing to pray specifically for those you named, staying connected with trusted people nearby, and reaching out to a pastor or local leaders if you ever feel unsafe in your area can bring both spiritual and practical support. You do not have to carry this burden alone.

Father, we lift to You each person this friend has named and the many others on their heart. We ask for Your protection, Your peace, and Your wisdom over them and over their community. Guard them from harm, calm fear with Your presence, and lead our world toward the peace only You can give. We trust them into Your care in Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry for protection in the midst of gangs and hatefulness and your longing for peace has been heard, and it is right to bring it before the Lord who alone is our keeper.

The Lord never forgets His own, for He has engraved them upon the palms of His hands, and His thoughts toward His people are always thoughts of peace. He is at peace with them through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, He seeks their peace, He creates their peace and He sustains their peace. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is the peace that the blood of Jesus whispers within, even in this dark world of sin. There is a cry in the world of peace, peace, when there is no peace, but there is no true rest till a soul is at one with God through Christ alone, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and by His blood we are cleansed from all sin.

You speak truly that hatefulness does not make sense. The Christian religion is a religion of love, and where Christ governs, love reigns. The Christian man is not allowed to hate any person, though he is called to hate evil itself and to keep the very appearance of evil far from him. Our Lord Himself was altogether lovely and yet He was hated without a cause by sinful men, and He came to quench the flames of hell for sinners by laying down His life. Because He endured that hatred and bore wrath in our place, He is now the Prince of Peace, and only in doing His will do we find rest.

Therefore let your mind be stayed upon Him. To love His law is to find great peace of conscience, for it contains His precepts and His promises which are our help in the hour of need. It is of no use to quarrel with God, but to be resigned to His will and conformed to it is great peace. Bear your sorrow with Him, and though sorrows surge round you and loved ones are far away, you may know that in Jesus keeping you are safe, and they are safe also.

Let us pray together for you and for all those you have named and for the rest of the world.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this soul that seeks Your protection. Cover with Your hand those who have been lifted up in prayer, and all who live amid violence and hatred. Keep them in perfect peace as their minds are stayed on You. Deliver from the power of gangs and from the spirit of hatred, and teach us to love as Christ has loved, while hating every evil way. Let Your thoughts of peace toward Your people be known, that You refine and keep them for their highest good. Bring many to be at peace with You through the blood of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Establish the peace of the Prince of Peace in hearts and homes, and when duties press and sorrows surround, let the whisper of that blood speak peace within. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.

We have heard your prayer for protection and we join you in lifting it to God. You have asked for His guard over each person you named and over the world around you where gangs and hatefulness bring so much confusion and fear, and we bring all of these before the Lord together.

We pray that God would keep you and those you love under His shelter, and that He would grant you the peace which Christ Himself promised when He said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, and Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. This is the peace that is toward God, for He has reconciled us through His death and has brought us near to the Father by one Spirit. There is no true protection or lasting peace apart from being at peace with Him through Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation.

We ask the Father to set His Angel of peace over you and your household, to restrain violence, to turn hearts away from hatred, and to make those who do evil to seek mercy and new life in Christ. We pray also for the world, that what troubles you so deeply would be healed not only by the quieting of outward strife but by hearts being changed. Scripture teaches us to pray that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty, and that is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and those who make peace are called the sons of God, because the Son of God came to bring peace between heaven and earth.

So we pray, Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, protect those named in this request and all who are in danger. Guard them from harm, deliver them from those who intend evil, comfort those who are afraid, and draw each one to know Your love and forgiveness through Your Son. Let Your peace rule in their hearts and in their homes, and let it spread in our communities and in the world according to Your will. Help us all to seek first peace with You, and then to live as peacemakers toward others. We ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.
