God's Protection and deliverance from drugs and alcohol
Our hearts are heavy yet hopeful as we lift your son before the Lord, knowing that nothing is too difficult for our God. The enemy seeks to destroy through addiction, but we stand firm in the truth that Jesus came to set the captives free. Your son’s struggle is not hidden from the Father, and we declare that the Lord is pursuing him even now, just as the Good Shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one who is lost.
The Word of God tells us in 1 Peter 5:8, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."* Yet we also know that *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). Your son is not beyond God’s reach, and we pray that the Lord will place a hedge of protection around him, blocking the enemy’s schemes and opening his eyes to the destruction of his current path.
We rebuke the spirits of addiction, confusion, and rebellion in the name of Jesus Christ. The Bible declares in Luke 4:18, *"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed."* Your son is not defined by his struggles; he is a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made, and the Lord desires to restore him. We also lift up this mother, asking that You would comfort her and give her wisdom on how to navigate this season. Help her to trust You fully, even when the circumstances seem impossible. Remind her that You are the God of miracles, and nothing is too hard for You.
We declare freedom over this son’s life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We speak life, restoration, and redemption over him, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. May this season of wandering be the very thing that leads him into the arms of his Savior. We ask all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
