Silas
Beloved of All
Your desire for clarity, truth and understanding of God's will is a prayer that God delights to answer. He is not a God who hides Himself or keeps His plans sealed away from His children. The very word He uses for His revelation means an unveiling, a removing of the covering so that what was hidden can be seen clearly. He gave that revelation through Jesus Christ to show His servants what is to come, making it known by His angel to John, and at times speaking directly and guiding him so that the message would be clear.
At the center of all that God reveals is Jesus Himself. He is shown as He relates to His church, watching over and caring for His people, and He is shown as the coming King of kings and Lord of lords. When you ask the Holy Spirit to touch your heart with truth, the clearest answer will always lead you to see Jesus more clearly. To know God's plan is to know Him.
The great purpose of the Spirit in your life is to shape you into the image of Christ. As His work is completed in you, you begin to respond as Jesus responds, to love as He loves and to forgive as He forgave. In this way you become His representative in this world, a faithful witness of what He is, just as He was the faithful witness of the Father. Guidance does not come only as information about the future, it comes as transformation in the present.
Jesus said that in this world you will have tribulation, and there are times when the path feels uncertain and the future feels heavy. Yet through all of His dealings, the testimony of heaven is that His judgments and His ways are righteous and true. You can trust that His will is good, loving and fair, even when you cannot yet see the whole picture.
So keep seeking Him in His Word, keep His word and hold fast to the name of Jesus, and keep your heart open to Him. He has promised that if you open the door to Him, He will come in.
Praying for you now, that the Father would fill you with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, that the eyes of your heart would be enlightened to know His hope and His calling. May He grant you peace as you trust His will, and may He make His will done in your life as it is in heaven, conforming you more and more to His Son. In the name of Jesus.
