Your prayer has been heard and it is a right and precious prayer to pray, for men need comfort because they are but men, and the Lord Himself has said, I will comfort you. When He undertakes the work, the soul shall be satisfied even out of poor earthen vessels, for it must be God's work.
You ask to experience again and again the love and comfort and presence of God in the name of Jesus Christ, and to know the healing of the brokenhearted. The Word of God does indeed say that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds, and there is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, which teaches us that the least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Look to Him, for the Cross is the window through which the love of God is best seen, and there His love must manifest itself in action. He has not merely spoken of His love, He has proved it.
Know this, that everything that God does to His people is all love, sometimes the love is a little disguised, but the love is always there. If He caresses, it is love. If He chastens, it is love. If He smiles, it is love. If He frowns, it is love, for God is Love and to His people nothing else but Love, infinite, boundless, eternal, immeasurable, inexhaustible, unchangeable, perpetual Love. Oh the sweet savor of that word, love, to be loved of the great heart which sustains the universe. You who are His child through faith in Christ are as much loved of God as if He had not another child to love.
He will not cease to comfort His people. As one whom his mother comforts, so will He comfort you. Though nature itself should change, Sion still dwells upon the heart of everlasting love. Yet seek His comfort where He delights to give it, in the assembly of His people, not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together, for the place of comfort is often there among the saints where His Word is loved and revered. To love His Word is to find great peace, and that peace is the work of the Holy Spirit.
Let us pray together. O God, You have taught us from our youth and Your wondrous works have been declared among us, look in mercy upon this tried and wounded heart. In the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, pour out again and again Your love and comfort and manifest presence. Heal the brokenhearted and bind up every wound with Your own tender hand. Let the healing virtue of Christ, even the leaves of that blessed Tree, restore and refresh this soul. If it be Your will and in Your perfect timing, grant also victories and blessings from Your fatherly hand, as You see best. Teach this dear one to rejoice at Your Word as one that finds great spoil, and to know that Your love abides forever. Comfort, comfort Your people, we pray, and make this bruised reed to give forth music again for Your glory. Amen.
