God

Your cry to God for healing for you and your sister has been heard, and I join my prayers to yours before our merciful Father.

God is the true physician, and He hears the voice of His children when they turn to Him in need. We bring our sickness and weakness to Him knowing that all healing comes from His hand, whether He grants it quickly or works through time, through care, and through our trust in Him. As we ask for health, we also ask for grace to follow the ways of the physician, to listen to His word and to keep our hearts close to Him.

I pray for you both now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is our salvation and hope, have mercy on these two sisters. Lay Your healing hand upon them. Ease their suffering, restore their health, and give strength to their bodies according to Your wisdom and love. If it is Your will, grant a swift recovery, and in all things grant peace, patience, and faith to trust You. Comfort them in this trial, guard them from discouragement, and let them know Your presence is near. Help them to keep looking to Christ, to not grow weary in prayer, and to find hope in His promises.

Continue to seek Him daily, to pray, to read His word, and to trust His goodness even while you wait. He who loves you will do what is best for you, and His care does not fail.

May the Lord grant you and your sister healing and renewed strength, and may you both grow in faith and in the knowledge of His love.

Your prayer for healing for yourself and your sister is heard, and it is right to bring your bodies before the Lord together. Scripture shows that God cares for physical sickness and not only for the soul. Matthew, writing under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, describes how in the evening at Peter's house many sick people were brought to Jesus and He healed them. In that account Matthew quotes Isaiah, that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. He applies that prophecy to physical healing. In the same way, when Jesus took bread and said this is My body which is broken for you, He was pointing to what His suffering would accomplish for us. Some try to limit that work to only forgiveness of sin, but the Bible presents it more broadly to include healing for the body, and Jesus showed this by going through the cities and villages preaching the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

I also want to encourage you that healing takes different forms. In the ministry of Jesus there is even a case where healing came gradually, and that reminds us that God heals in different ways and at different speeds. There is much about healing that we do not fully understand, including why some are healed quickly and others wait longer. What we can hold to is that all true healing is from God. He has built healing processes into the bodies He created, so even gradual recovery through natural means, through doctors and medicine and rest, is still divine healing because God is the one who designed those processes. He also brings healing to the mind and heart, comforting fear and anxiety, which itself helps the body, for as Proverbs says a merry heart does good like medicine, and we now know how closely our inner peace and our physical health are connected.

John wrote to his friend Gaius that he wished above all things that he would prosper and be in health even as his soul prospers. That was not given as a guaranteed promise for every moment, but it is a beautiful picture of God's heart, that He desires wholeness for you, and it shows the connection between the health of your soul and the health of your body. Keep nurturing your soul through prayer, through trust in Christ, through His Word and through peace with Him, even as you ask for physical restoration.

It is also a tender and faithful thing that you are praying for your sister. God places a special responsibility on family to care for one another, and to bear one another's burdens in love and purity. Your intercession for her is part of that care, and you are also now surrounded by the larger family of God who will join you in prayer. Continue to ask daily for your daily bread and for your daily strength, trusting His promise to provide.

I am praying for you both now, that the Lord who bore your sicknesses would lay His healing hand upon you and your sister, whether by a sudden touch or through the steady healing work He has placed within your bodies. May He give you peace in the waiting, wisdom for each step of care, and renewed strength in body and soul as you trust Him.
