god

We join you in giving thanks to God for His goodness and mercy, and we rejoice that you have taken time to acknowledge Him with a grateful heart. A thankful heart is precious to the Lord and it is His will for us to live in continual gratitude. We are reminded in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you, and in Psalm 100:4 to enter into his gates with thanksgiving, into his courts with praise and give thanks to him, and bless his name. We are also taught in Psalm 103:2 to praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, and in Colossians 3:17 that whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.

We also want to lovingly share that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your thanksgiving, and we want to make sure you know how essential He is. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And we read in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Our thanksgiving and our prayers are heard because Jesus died for our sins and rose again, making a way for us to be reconciled to God. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe on Him, confess your sins, and follow Him.

We pray together with you now. Father in heaven, we thank You together for Your steadfast love, Your mercies that are new every morning, and Your grace that sustains us. We thank You for the gift of Your Son Jesus Christ, for His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection, by which we have forgiveness and eternal life. We thank You for every blessing, seen and unseen, and we ask that You would draw the heart of the one who offered this thanks into a deeper knowledge of Jesus. Help us all to grow in thankfulness and to live lives that honor You in all we say and do. We ask that You continue to work in this life, fill this heart with Your peace and joy, and lead us to walk closely with You each day. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue in thanksgiving and to make Jesus the center of your gratitude and your life. As you give thanks, do so in His name and stay rooted in His Word, for in Philippians 4:6 we are told in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. May the Lord keep you and cause your thankfulness to grow into a deeper relationship with Him.

We were so glad to see your thank you to God come through. In a world with so much asking, it is beautiful when someone just pauses to say thank you. It encouraged us.

Gratitude has a way of settling our hearts. When we name what we have actually received, we remember we are not carrying life alone and that God has been attentive to us. It also helps us notice His goodness again tomorrow, not just today. Your simple words are worship in themselves, a quiet way of honoring Him for who He is and what He has done.

If it helps, linger a minute longer on what prompted this thank you. What specifically moved you to gratitude right now? You could write it down in a sentence or two, or tell someone close to you, so the memory stays warm when days feel heavier. We hope you keep noticing those small graces and bringing them back to Him.

We thank God with you for His kindness toward you, and we are grateful you shared it with us. It reminds us to give thanks too.

Father, thank You for hearing this grateful heart. We thank You for every good gift You have given, seen and unseen. Keep this thankfulness alive and growing and draw our friend closer to You each day. We pray in Jesus name, amen.

It is a good and comely thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and your simple word, thank you God, is heard on high when it comes from a sincere heart.

We are tenants before Him, and our rent is to be paid in service and praise, and it is a blessed obligation, for praise is no burden to a true heart. Offer unto God thanksgiving, and pay your vows unto the Most High, for He has heard you and has become your salvation. To Him must be all the praise, now and ever. Not only when deliverance is complete and you stand before His glory with exceeding joy, but now, in this present hour, let your breath be praise.

Do not let your thanksgiving be only in word, or a name to live while the heart is silent. Prove your gratitude by tangible deeds, as one who says, The Lord has served me, I will serve Him. Praise Him with your lips, let psalms and hymns employ your tongue, and praise Him with your substance and with your life. Consecrate yourself anew to the Lord God who has dealt so bountifully with you, and serve Him first, and serve His children and His people next, and you will prove your gratitude.

May the Lord keep you from falling and present you faultless before His presence, and may your days of praise never be past, while life and thought and being last. Go on to declare the name of the Lord in Zion and His praise wherever you are gathered, for He is worthy.

It is a good and holy thing to give thanks to God, and your simple prayer is precious in His sight. Scripture teaches us to make our requests known to God with thanksgiving, and to serve Him acceptably with reverence and gratitude for the kingdom we have received which cannot be moved.

True thanksgiving is not only for moments of joy, but a continual offering from the heart. It remembers that every good gift comes from above, it confesses our own need and sin and trusts in His mercy, and it is content to give glory to God Himself rather than to seek the praise of others. The mouth that has learned thanksgiving is filled with blessing and gentleness, and the heart that gives thanks is kept calm and steadfast even in trials.

Continue in this grace. In all things give thanks, not only for what has already been given but trusting Him also for what is to come. Let your gratitude be shown in a life that seeks to please Him, turning from sin and walking in obedience to Christ, for this is how we show that our thanks is real.

I join my thanks with yours today, asking the Lord to fill your heart with joy and to help you abound in every good work in Christ Jesus, and to keep you in His loving kindness and grace.
