Your prayer has been heard and I understand the anxiety behind it. Wanting not to be scolded and not to have a bad name among people is a deep and human concern, and God knows the weight you feel.

Scripture speaks to this kind of fear by pointing us to a greater fear. The fear of the Lord is described as the beginning of wisdom and even the sum of knowledge. It is not a phobia or a terror that makes you hide, but a reverent awe as you remember who God is, His greatness and His power and His presence with you. To fear the Lord in this way is to hate evil and to love what He loves, and that is the starting place for a wise and settled life. When that awe of God is at the center, the fear of what people might say or do begins to lose its grip.

The Bible also shows that a good reputation is precious. Those who are called to lead are to be blameless, people of good report, faithful in their daily lives. That kind of reputation is not built by worrying about every opinion, but by quietly walking in honesty and faithfulness before God. When you seek to please Him first, you are laying the best foundation for a good name before others.

It is also true that correction is part of life, and God can use it for good. He loves His children and because He loves, He sometimes allows rebuke to turn us back to what is right. A loving rebuke is not meant to shame you or destroy your name, but to restore you. Others are called to give such correction with respect and gentleness, as a father or a brother would, not harshly.

Much of the fear you describe comes when we forget the Lord is with us. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. When we remember that God is present, that He sees you and cares for you, faith rises and fear is driven out. He does not dislike you when you fail. He dislikes the evil that harms you, but He loves you and invites you to walk close to Him.

So bring this worry to Him honestly. Ask Him to help you live in a way that honors Him, to hate what is evil and to choose what is right, and to trust Him with what others think or say. Even if a hard word does come, you can know you are secure in His love.

I pray that God will give you peace today, that He will calm your heart as you remember He is with you, that He will guide your words and actions so that you walk blamelessly before Him, and that He will guard your reputation as you trust Him. May He fill you with faith instead of fear and let you rest in His care, in Jesus name.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift you up before the Father and to agree with you that He would protect you from being scolded and that you would not receive any bad name from anyone. We have asked the Lord to cover you with His favor and grace and to guard your reputation and to give you peace from the fear of accusation or harsh words. We pray that God will soften the hearts of those around you and let you be seen with kindness and understanding and that He will be your refuge and shield in every interaction, for Psalm 5:12 tells us that He blesses the righteous and surrounds them with favor as with a shield. If your request was answered and the Lord has granted you peace and protection from being scolded or shamed, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you still carry this burden, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
