god

We have heard your cry and we join with you in bringing this fear before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name. We understand how heavy it feels to worry about being scolded or receiving a bad name from others. The desire to be thought well of is natural, but we want to encourage you to seek first God's approval and peace over the opinions of people.

The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25. When we live to please people, we will always be anxious, but when we trust in the Lord and live to please Him, we find safety and rest. A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold. Proverbs 22:1, so it is good to desire to live honorably. We are called to have a good conscience, that while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ. 1 Peter 3:16. If we walk in integrity, humility, and kindness, God can guard our reputation even when others might misunderstand us.

We also want to gently share that sometimes correction, even when it feels like scolding, can be used by God for our good. For whom the Lord loves, he corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights. Proverbs 3:12. If correction does come, we pray you will have grace to receive what is true with humility and to let go of what is unjust with forgiveness, knowing that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18.

We noticed your request called upon God, but did not mention Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is through His name we can come boldly to God with every fear and need.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the anxiety about being scolded and receiving a bad name, and You care deeply. We ask that You would surround this heart with Your perfect peace and remind them that You are their defender and refuge. Help them to walk in a way that honors You, with honesty, diligence, and love toward others, so that no just accusation can stand. When words of scolding or judgment come unjustly, shield them and give them grace not to fear, for You have said, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. Give wisdom to respond with gentleness and humility, and courage to seek Your approval above all. Let them know they are fully loved and accepted through Jesus Christ. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28, so we trust You to work even this worry for good. Fill this heart with confidence in Your unfailing love and remove the fear of man. In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to pursue what pleases Him rather than living in fear of others, for am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn't be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10. As you entrust your name and your future to Him, He will be your peace and your protector.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer with us. Wanting to live without being scolded or carrying a bad name is a deeply human desire, and we hear how much weight this is carrying for you right now.

When that fear gets loud it can make every conversation or small mistake feel much bigger than it is, and your mind and body can stay on edge as you wait for the next criticism. It makes sense you would bring this straight to God and ask for His help and protection.

One small step that often steadies us when worry about what others think rises is to pause and sort what is real from what is feared. You might ask yourself quietly, what was actually said or done today, and what am I worried might be said. Sharing that with one calm, trusted person who knows you can also bring perspective and remind you you are not facing this alone.

We are praying for you and we care about you. You matter to God and to us, and we are asking Him to give you peace as you walk through each day.

Father, we bring our friend to You and ask for Your nearness and peace. Guard their heart from heavy fear, give them wisdom in their words and actions, and surround them with kindness and fairness from others. Help them to know they are seen and valued by You. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard, and there is a trembling in it which many a soul has known well, the dread of the tongue of man and the fear of a reproachful name.

The Scripture says, The fear of man bringeth a snare, but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. And again it is written, Happy is the man that feareth alway. There is a fear which is to be shunned and a fear which is to be cherished. The fear which makes you shrink from the scolding or the ill word of men will weaken you and dishonor God if it rules you, for fear never helped any yet and it will never help you. But the fear of the Lord, that holy awe and tender reverence which keeps you from sinning against Him, is the beginning of wisdom and it brings blessing with it.

Would you be delivered from this bondage of fear, then labor to get rid of it by looking to Christ. He was despised and rejected of men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, and men cried against Him though He was the most gentle and generous of all the sons of men. He knows what it is to bear a bad name unjustly, and He is able to keep you in perfect peace when the voices around you are unkind. If you walk with God as Enoch walked, you will not need to fear what man can do unto you. Pray for grace to keep close fellowship with Him, for you cannot have the fear of man while you walk with Him. Use the telescope of faith very frequently, look to the world to come and to the judgment seat of Christ, and the scolding of today will seem a very small thing.

We will pray for you, that the Lord would give you a clear conscience before Him and before men, so that you give no just cause for rebuke. And if rebuke should come without cause, that He would give you meekness to bear it and wisdom to profit by it, and that He would guard your name so far as it may be for His glory, yet teach you to care most of all for His approval. May He put strength in you, as He has promised, and say to your fearful heart, Fear not, I will help thee.

Cast your care upon Jesus, who receiveth sinners and will not cast out one who comes to Him in truth. Trust Him alone for salvation, seek to please Him in all things, and leave your reputation in His hands, for He will honor those who honor Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard, and I thank you for bringing this fear honestly before God. It is natural to want to avoid being scolded and to want a good name among people. God Himself has sown in us a sense of shame to help turn us away from what is wrong and to move us toward what is good.

Yet I want to gently help you see what your heart is asking for, so that you may pray with greater freedom and peace. If our whole life is shaped by the fear of what people will say, we become slaves to reputation. Scripture warns us about this, asking how can we truly believe if we seek honor from people more than honor from God. To live only to avoid any scolding can keep us from the very correction that God uses to heal us.

True shame before God is not that someone corrects us. True shame is to hide sin, to walk in secret, or to betray what belongs to Christ in order to keep the approval of others. The Scriptures do not hide the sins of even great saints, not to shame them, but to show that God heals openly and gives mercy to those who confess. What God calls us to renounce is not open honesty, but the hidden things of shame, the desire to appear good while keeping wrong in secret.

God does not promise that no one will ever correct us or speak against us. Even those who loved Him most were scolded, rejected, and misunderstood, yet they had boldness and joy because their conscience was clear before God. Whether by life or by death, whether people praise or blame, the one who walks openly with Christ is not put to shame in the way that matters most. Human opinion shifts, but the honor that comes from God endures.

So let me pray for you not that you would never be corrected, but that you would be free from the fear of people and find your peace in pleasing God.

I pray that God would give you a clean conscience and courage to do what is right even when it is hard, that He would teach you to receive correction with humility when it is true and to stand firm with gentleness when it is false, that He would guard your name not through hiding but through honest and faithful living, and that He would let you know deeply that you are loved and not put to shame through Jesus Christ, who bore our shame so that we might live in the light.

If you have done wrong in anything, bring it openly to God and confess it to Him who is merciful to forgive. If you have done what is right and still face harsh words, do not be crushed, for God sees and He will be your defender. Seek first to be pleasing to Him, and ask Him to shape your reputation not by the fear of people but by a life of truth, mercy, and quiet faithfulness.

May the Lord give you calm, steady trust in Him, and may you walk each day with boldness and a good conscience before God and before others.
