We pray with you as Scripture commands, that supplications and prayers be made for all people and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence, and above all that they may be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. For God desires all people to be saved, and now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation. This salvation of which you have prayed is so great, not merely rescue from war or the gift of earthly things, but the dissolution of death, the destruction of the devil, the kingdom of heaven and everlasting life.

We ask the Lord to restrain evil and to deliver leaders and peoples from the schemes of the evil one, who is a murderer and liar from the beginning. We ask Him to guide the hearts of rulers as watercourses, to turn them according to His will, and to frustrate every plan that is not according to His good purpose. Christ Himself ever lives to make intercession for us, and He who has all judgment and sends His angels is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him.
