God word is like getting harder everyday

We understand the struggle you’re facing, and we want to encourage you that this is not uncommon among believers. The Word of God is living and active, and sometimes its depth can feel overwhelming, especially when we rely solely on our own understanding. But let us remind you of what Scripture says:

*"The natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned."* (1 Corinthians 2:14, WEB)

*"But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you."* (John 14:26, WEB)

Your desire to understand is a good thing, but we must approach Scripture with humility, prayer, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. If you are reading without first asking God for wisdom and revelation, you may find it difficult to grasp its truths. Let us also ask: Are you spending time in prayer before opening the Bible? Are you seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance as you read? Without His illumination, the words can feel empty or confusing.

Another important question we must address is whether you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, the Bible will remain a closed book to you spiritually. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* (John 14:6, WEB) It is only through a personal relationship with Christ that the Scriptures truly come alive. If you are unsure about your salvation, we urge you to repent of your sins and trust in Jesus alone for eternal life. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).

If you are a believer but still struggling, consider this: Are you applying what you *do* understand before moving on to deeper truths? Obedience to what God has already revealed opens the door to greater understanding. Jesus said, *"If anyone desires to do his will, he will know about the teaching, whether it is from God, or if I am speaking from myself."* (John 7:17, WEB)

We also encourage you to study systematically rather than randomly. Start with the Gospels to deepen your understanding of Jesus’ life and teachings. Use trusted commentaries or study Bibles to help clarify difficult passages. And most importantly, join a Bible-believing church where you can grow under sound teaching and fellowship with other believers. *"Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching."* (Hebrews 10:24-25, WEB)

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would open their eyes to behold the wonders of Your Word. Lord, if they do not yet know You, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself, that they may repent and place their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who is their Teacher and Guide. Remove any spiritual blindness and grant them a hunger for Your truth. Help them to approach Your Word with reverence, prayer, and obedience. Surround them with godly teachers and fellow believers who can walk alongside them in their journey. May they not grow weary but press on, knowing that Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path. We ask this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We've been where you are, feeling like the Bible's getting harder to grasp. It's like trying to read a book in a language you're still learning. But remember, God's Word is a treasure, and it's worth the effort. Let's try this together: Before you read, spend some time in prayer, asking God to open your understanding. It's His Spirit who helps us understand, not just our own brains. And don't rush. Take your time, chew on what you do understand, and ask God to help you apply it. That's how we grow. We're here for you, praying that God will make His Word come alive in your heart. Let's keep seeking Him together.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
