We come before the Lord with hearts full of gratitude for His faithfulness in the life of this single mother and her son. Father, we thank You for the strength and provision You have given her as she has raised her child alone. Your Word tells us in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." We are so thankful that You have been her help and her refuge.
Lord, we lift up this young man before You now. We pray that You would shape his character to reflect the heart of a godly man, one who seeks after You above all else. Proverbs 20:7 says, "A righteous man walks in integrity. Blessed are his children after him." Father, instill in him integrity, wisdom, and a deep reverence for You. May he grow into a man who leads with humility, loves with sincerity, and honors the covenant of marriage as You designed it—a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman.
We also pray for this mother’s health, Lord. You know her needs, and we ask that You would continue to sustain her, granting her strength and peace as she navigates the challenges of life. We trust in Your promise from Psalm 30:2, "Lord my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me." May she find comfort in Your presence and assurance in Your care.
Now, Father, we must address a matter with love and truth. The request speaks of a "partner" for this young man, but we know Your Word is clear about marriage being between a man and a woman, as You designed from the beginning (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). We pray that this young man would seek a wife—a godly woman who loves You and desires to build a marriage that honors You. May he not settle for anything less than Your best for him, and may he be patient, trusting in Your timing. Proverbs 19:14 reminds us, "House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord."
Lord, we also rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be pressing upon this mother’s heart. Your Word tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We pray that she would rest in Your sovereignty, knowing that You have a plan for her son’s life, including his future marriage. May she find peace in surrendering her desires to You, trusting that You will provide in Your perfect way.
We pray for this young man’s future wife even now, Lord. If she is not yet in his life, we ask that You would prepare her heart, drawing her closer to You and shaping her into a woman of faith, virtue, and love. May she be a Proverbs 31 woman, whose worth is far above rubies, and may their union be a testament to Your glory.
Father, we thank You for the blood of Jesus Christ, which has made a way for us to come boldly before Your throne. It is only through His name that we have access to You, and we are so grateful for the salvation and hope we have in Him. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
