πŸ™ Father, Restrain Evil, We Pray FOR ALL in Authority, 1 Tim 2:1-2, SALVATION in Jesus' Name, 3, 4... πŸ™Œ Father -- You are Sovereign, "having made from one man all the nations of the earth, determining BOTH their APPOINTED TIMES and EXACT BOUNDARIES of their habitation, Acts 17:26. "Surely the nations are as a drop in a bucket, regarded as the small dust of a balance," Isa 40:15.

Lifting this burden to YOU asking YOU to restrain the evil one over Several Unruly Countries at present, asking You intercept evil plans, sovereignly, as Elisha heard the king of Syria and related it to Israel, in 2 Kings 6:12, and how David knew evil had been intended against him by Saul, 1 Sam 20:3, 9, 27-28, 29-30, 31-32, 33-34, 35-36, 37-38, 39-40, 41-42.

Bind the spirit of retaliation over these countries, Dan 10:12-13, 14. Please back the evil one off of their leaders and strategists, even using praise and worship, 1 Sam 16:23, Ps 149, Ps 149, Ps 150, et cetera, "From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the NAME of The LORD shall be praised," Ps 113:3.

Lead us, our country and our leaders not into temptation, but rather deliver them from evil, Mt 6:13, for we are not ignorant of the devil's schemes, 2 Cor 2:11, a murderer from the beginning and a liar by nature, Jn 8:44.

May the Church ACTUALLY be Your Helpmeet, Gen 2:18, imitating God, Eph 5:1, SINCE YOU EVER LIVE TO MAKE INTERCESSION, Heb 7:25, Jesus Christ, the visible image of the invisible God, Col 1:15, John 14:9. "We heard of Jesus of Nazareth, how He went about doing GOOD and HEALING -- ALL -- who were oppressed by the devil, for You were with Him," Acts 10:38-39, 40, 41, said Peter, who was strictly prohibited to bear false witness, as were all the apostles, Ex 20:16, and as we are too called to be a Holy Nation, and Royal Priesthood, 1 Pet 2:9. We also shall do the works He did, Mt 21:21, Mk 11:23-24, Jn 14:12, in prayer and whatever else He shows us, Jn 15:7.

Spoil the evil one's plans and tactics until they only conform to Your exact will -- and since these things are beyond our limitations, we at least make them the subject of our prayers, confessing our sins and the sins of our nation, Dan 9:20, 1 Tim 2:1-2, 3, 4. Restrain the evil one with a great chain even now in part, Dan 20:2, knowing the fullness will one day be a sight to behold, Luke 10:18, nevertheless thank You for authority, Lk 10:19, but since the devil is temporary, we more gladly rejoice in the things that accompany salvation, Lk 10:20. Thank You in Jesus' Name.
 
We join with you in this burden and agree together before the Father for His sovereign hand to restrain evil among the nations and to guide those in authority according to His perfect will in Jesus' name.

We affirm with you that God rules over the nations, for it is written having made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons and the boundaries of their dwellings Acts 17:26 and surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance Isa 40:15. His sovereignty is not distant or passive but active, and we are not ignorant of the devil's schemes 2 Cor 2:11, for we know the adversary is a murderer from the beginning and the father of lies John 8:44.

We thank you for lifting up this intercession for unruly countries and for leaders and strategists who are under intense spiritual pressure. We stand on the word that exhorts first of all that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence 1 Tim 2:1-2, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Tim 2:3-4. That is our heart as well, that restraint of evil would be accompanied by salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and no one comes to the Father except through Him John 14:6.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son who is the image of the invisible God Col 1:15 and who ever lives to make intercession for us Heb 7:25, we come boldly to Your throne. You are sovereign over every nation and every leader. We ask that You restrain the evil one and frustrate every plan that is not of You, just as You revealed the plans of the king of Syria to Elisha 2 Kings 6:12 and warned David of Saul's intent 1 Sam 20:33. We ask You to bind the spirit of retaliation and violence that stirs strife between peoples, remembering how the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood the messenger for twenty one days until Michael came to help Dan 10:13. Let Your angels still war on behalf of Your purposes.

Father, we ask You to push back darkness from the minds of rulers and counselors. We ask that You lift the oppression as You did when David played and the distressing spirit departed from Saul 1 Sam 16:23. Let praise arise across Your Church, for from the rising of the sun to its going down Yahweh's name is to be praised Ps 113:3, and let the high praises of God be in our mouths Ps 149:6, for You inhabit the praises of Your people and confusion comes upon the enemy when You are exalted.

We pray for our own country and for all leaders, that You would lead them not into temptation, but deliver them from the evil one Matt 6:13. Grant them wisdom, counsel, and the fear of the Lord, that they may govern with justice and restraint and that the Church may live in peace to proclaim the gospel.

We confess our sins and the sins of our nation before You Dan 9:20, knowing we have fallen short and need Your mercy. We thank You that You have given us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy Luke 10:19, yet we rejoice even more that our names are written in heaven Luke 10:20. We thank You that Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him Acts 10:38, and that greater works shall we do as we abide in Him John 14:12, as we ask according to Your will John 15:7.

We ask You even now to restrain the deceiver with a great chain Rev 20:2, remembering that Jesus saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven Luke 10:18, and we look forward to the day when his defeat is fully manifest. Until then, make Your Church truly a helper fit for Your purposes Gen 2:18, imitating You as beloved children Eph 5:1, and standing in the gap as a holy nation and a royal priesthood 1 Pet 2:9 to declare Your praises.

We spoil every scheme of the enemy that does not conform to Your exact will and we ask that only Your counsel shall stand. We trust not in princes or in human strategies but in Your mighty hand. Let salvation spread among the nations, let evil be restrained, and let Your name be glorified in all the earth. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
 
We were so encouraged to read your prayer for the nations and for those in authority. You are carrying a heavy burden with real love for people caught in places of turmoil, and for leaders who need wisdom beyond themselves. It matters that you are bringing this to the Lord instead of carrying it alone.

It can feel overwhelming to hold so many unruly situations before God at once. What has helped us is remembering prayer is not about finding the right words to move God, but simply depending on Him and staying in conversation with Him. He delights to hear His people and to be at work in ways we cannot see or control, and He invites us to keep bringing what is beyond our reach to Him.

One way to keep this burden sustainable is to give it a simple rhythm. You might choose a short, set time each day to lift these countries and leaders by name, and invite one trusted friend or someone in your church to pray alongside you so you are not holding it by yourself.

Father, we lift these nations and their leaders to You. Restrain what is evil and bring confusion to plans that would harm others. Give wisdom and restraint to those in authority, and draw many to know Your mercy and salvation in Jesus. Keep this dear intercessor encouraged and steady as they continue to seek You. In Jesus' name, amen.

How good it is to lay such a burden as this before the throne of grace, for the Lord is sovereign and He reigns over the nations. Surely the nations are as a drop in a bucket and are counted as the small dust of the balance, and He has made from one man all the nations of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the exact boundaries of their habitation. There is Divine Sovereignty in all this, and we must learn to recognize and admire it, and to bow before Him who has a right to do as He wills with His own.

Your prayer for those in authority is according to the mind of God, who would have us pray for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, and who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. And your cry that He would restrain evil is most needful, for God works for His people, the evil He hinders and restricts. Even now He can intercept the counsels of the wicked as He did when Elisha heard the king of Syria, and He can spoil the plans of the adversary until they only conform to His exact will.

Do not be discouraged if your prayers seem feeble. Blessed be God, there is One who can wash our prayers for us in the fountain filled with blood, for the best thing we ever do needs to be washed there. If there is a heart in the world that longs for God, God's ear is already in that poor sinner's heart. As a mother hears the quick breathing of her child in the night when no other ear would hear it, so the Lord hears the desire that scarcely becomes a prayer. And a louder voice than yours shall prevail for you, for Jesus Christ ever lives to make intercession, and His omnipotent pleadings cover your feeble breathings.

Therefore continue praying in the Holy Spirit, which is praying in the Spirit's power and praying humbly, not puffed up with pride but coming lowly to His footstool. What He says in one place He declares in another, and the Spirit's writing in the heart always tallies with the writing of destiny in the book of God's eternal purpose. Pray also confessing our sins and the sins of our nation, for praying will make you leave off sinning, and abiding in Christ and in love is the sure way to abide in the light.

Wait upon the Lord, for the Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord, for God's time is always the best time. May He deliver our leaders not into temptation but from evil, may He restrain the murderer and liar by nature, and may He visit many yet sitting in darkness with His saving health, giving joy and peace in believing through Jesus Christ our Lord, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed, and who is the visible image of the invisible God. To Him be all praise from the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same.
