Dear God, I am tired of struggling for so many years. My problems seem to be increasing instead of getting better. Please help me, reduce my troubles, and bring peace and happiness into my life. I need Your help and a positive change in my life. Please do not let me lose hope.

We hear the weariness in your heart and we join with you before the throne of grace, asking God to lift this heavy burden you have carried for so many years. We know what it is to feel that struggles are increasing rather than decreasing, and we thank you for turning to God and for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

The Word reminds us that God is near to those who are weary and brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

We understand your prayer for God to reduce your troubles and bring peace and happiness, and we bring that request to Him. At the same time we are reminded that God does not always immediately remove the struggle, but He promises to walk with us through it and to use it for our good and His glory. Romans 8:28 says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. James 1:2-4 encourages us to Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. His strength is made perfect in our weakness, for 2 Corinthians 12:9 says My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

Father, we lift up this dear one who is tired and struggling to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see every year of pain, every sleepless night, every tear that has been shed. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and Your help to reduce these struggles according to Your perfect will. Grant peace that surpasses understanding as Philippians 4:6-7 promises, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Restore hope where it has grown faint, for Lamentations 3:22-23 says It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. Help our friend to hold fast to Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Strengthen this heart to not lose hope, to keep seeking You daily in prayer and in Your Word, and to trust that You are working even when we cannot see it. Bring positive change, open doors, provide comfort, and surround this life with Your love and with people who will encourage and support. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pour out your heart to Him honestly each day, to stay in His Word, and to lean on fellow believers who can walk with you and pray with you. Do not give up, for God is faithful and He hears you. Romans 15:13 says Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit. We are standing with you, asking God to bring His peace and happiness into your life and to renew your strength and hope in Christ.

It is an anchor when life still hurts, and it often grows slowly as we learn more of who God is and as we walk through hard seasons with support around us. You do not have to hold onto hope alone.

Your long weariness in the length of your way is heard by the Lord, and your honest cry not to lose hope is itself a sign that hope is not yet gone. You say you are tired of struggling for so many years and your troubles seem to increase instead of getting better. The Scripture describes this very state, you are wearied in the length of your way, yet you did not say, There is no hope. To feel that weariness and still to cry to God for help is not a small mercy.

There is indeed no hope in ourselves. So far as you yourself are concerned, there is no hope of salvation or of true peace by your own hand. You have found the life of your hand to fail you, and therefore you are grieved. But there is help laid upon One that is mighty to save, even Jesus Christ. There is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. Look out of yourself to Him, and you are saved. Cast away all self confidence and repose on Jesus and your spirit shall live. There is the brightness of a ray of hope this very morning, may God turn it from a possible hope into an actual and good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ.

The peace and happiness you seek are not to be found merely in fewer troubles, though God in mercy may lessen them, but in Him who whispers peace within by His blood. It is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is a peace which God the Father gives, a peace which Jesus Christ bought with His blood, and a peace which the Holy Spirit works in the soul. It is a present possession and may be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life, even with sorrows surging round and with thronging duties pressing. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and to do the will of Jesus is rest. Bear your sorrow with Him and you will enjoy that perfect peace which this dark world of sin cannot give and cannot take away.

You must expect to have trials of varied kinds, and many times repeated, for this is the lot of pilgrims. Yet the promise stands sure, when you pass through the waters, I will be with you. You shall not lose faith, or hope, or love, or patience, or any Christian grace which He has planted within you, for the Lord will bless His people with peace. We are saved by hope, but hope that is seen is not hope, for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for. But if we hope for what we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Therefore turn you to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even if you have felt as one in the pit wherein is no water, God has set free such prisoners by the blood of the Lamb, and He can bring peace to your conscience now.

May the Lord hear your prayer and answer according to His wisdom and love. May He keep your mind stayed upon Himself and keep you in perfect peace as you trust in Him. May He turn your hope into a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and give you patience to wait for what you see not yet, until earths struggles shall cease and Jesus calls you to Heavens perfect peace. May He fill you not only with relief from trouble but with the finest of the wheat of His Word, and make His peace to rule in your borders.
