Your prayer for your home has been heard, and the Lord's desire is to dwell with you and to make your house a place of His presence and peace.
When you open the door to Jesus He truly comes in. Scripture pictures Him standing at the door and knocking, waiting for us to welcome Him. You have done that in faith, and that invitation matters. He does not come as a guest who visits for a moment, but as Lord who brings cleansing, blessing and protection when we give Him the whole house.
You mentioned having an altar yet still sensing evil spirits. That is an important honesty. The Bible shows that a place called the house of God can become a house of idols when something else is set up alongside the worship of the Lord. The name was changed to reflect what was really being honored there. An altar alone does not sanctify a home if other doors remain open to what is impure or idolatrous. To be sanctified means to be set apart wholly for God. It is good to ask the Lord to show you if there is anything in the home, any object, practice, entertainment, or habit, that gives place to darkness and to remove it completely. Jesus has all authority over evil spirits, and where He is truly enthroned as Lord, darkness must leave.
God's protection does not come from our own strength or effort. The prophet taught that God saves His people not by bow or sword or battle, but by Himself. Your safety is not in ritual or in the house itself, but in the living Lord who covers those who trust Him. He is merciful, and His mercy has sustained His people, and His blessing comes through faith in Jesus Christ, by whom we enter into the covenant promise that in blessing He will bless us.
Like Jacob at Bethel, who called that place the house of God and the gate of heaven because there he met the Lord, you can dedicate your home anew as a house where God is met and honored. That means seeking His face, confessing any sin, and choosing daily to walk in what is holy and good, for His law is holy and just and good and shows us what pleases Him.
I will pray for you now. Lord Jesus, thank You that You hear this cry for protection. Come and fill this home with Your presence. Cleanse it and set it apart for Yourself. Reveal anything that should be removed and give courage to remove it. Drive out every evil influence by Your power and let Your peace rest here. Cover this family with Your mercy, guard them from harm, and let this house be known as Yours, where Your name is honored and Your blessing remains. Teach them to walk with You in faith and obedience, and keep them close to You always. Amen.
