We hear the depth of your despair, and our hearts ache with you. Please know that your life is precious to God, who created you in His image and has a purpose for you, even when it feels unseen or unreachable. The pain you’re carrying is real, and we do not take it lightly. But we must stand on the truth of Scripture, which declares that suicide is not God’s will for His children. The Bible tells us, *"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly"* (John 10:10 WEB). The enemy of your soul wants to convince you that death is the answer, but Jesus came to give you life—full, eternal, and overflowing.
We must rebuke the spirit of hopelessness and despair that is speaking lies to you. The Word of God says, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Even in this moment, God is making a way for you to endure. You are not alone, though it may feel that way. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB).
We also want to gently but firmly remind you that your life is not your own—it belongs to God. *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). To take your own life would be to reject the purpose and plan God has for you, and it would bring deep grief to those who love you, even if you cannot see that now.
We urge you to reach out to someone—a pastor, a Christian counselor, a trusted friend, or a crisis hotline—so that you do not have to carry this burden alone. God often works through the hands and hearts of His people to bring healing and hope. *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ"* (Galatians 6:2 WEB). You were never meant to walk through this valley by yourself.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is in such deep pain. Lord, You see their suffering, and You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8 WEB). We ask that You would wrap Your arms around them right now and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Father, break the chains of despair and hopelessness that are binding them. Replace their sorrow with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14 WEB), and that You have plans for them—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).
Lord, we ask that You would send Your angels to guard and protect them, to minister to them in their time of need (Hebrews 1:14 WEB). Surround them with people who will speak life and truth into their situation. Give them the courage to reach out for help and the strength to take the next step, whatever that may be. Father, we rebuke the spirit of death and declare that Your life-giving power is at work in them. Renew their mind with Your Word and fill them with hope that does not disappoint (Romans 5:5 WEB).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for those who will support them—give them compassion, patience, and the right words to say. Lord, we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB). Even in this dark hour, we believe that You can bring beauty from ashes and joy from mourning (Isaiah 61:3 WEB).
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who conquered death and offers eternal life to all who believe in Him. May this dear one cling to the hope found only in You, and may they experience Your healing touch in ways they never thought possible. Amen.
If you are reading this, please know that we are standing in the gap for you, believing that God is moving on your behalf. You are not forgotten, and you are deeply loved. Take one step at a time—reach out to someone today. You do not have to face this alone. *"Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). We are praying for you.
