We hear the depth of your despair and the weight of your pain, and our hearts ache with you. You are not alone, even if it feels that way right now. The cry of your heart has reached us, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting you up in prayer and seeking God’s mercy, healing, and hope.
First, we must rebuke the spirit of despair and death that is speaking to you. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your life is precious to God, who knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16) and has a purpose for you, even when it feels hidden or impossible to see. The pain you’re enduring is real, but it is not the end of your story. We declare that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees your tears, collects them in His bottle, and records them in His book (Psalm 56:8). You are seen, you are known, and you are loved.
We also want to gently but firmly address the request for God to take your life. Scripture is clear that our lives are not our own—we were bought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). To ask for death is to surrender to hopelessness, but God’s Word calls us to fight for hope, even when it feels unattainable. The apostle Paul, who endured immense suffering, wrote: *"We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed"* (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). Your pain is not the final word. God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
If you are struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide, we urge you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a Christian counselor, a friend, or a helpline—so you do not have to carry this burden alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here to walk with you through this valley. You do not have to face this in silence or isolation.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child of Yours who is in deep pain. Lord, You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask that You would pour out Your comfort and peace upon them right now, like a river of living water that washes over their soul. Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and death in the name of Jesus and command it to flee. We declare that no weapon formed against this one will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we speak life, hope, and restoration over them.
Lord, we ask that You would reveal Your presence to them in a tangible way. Let them feel Your arms around them, holding them close. Show them that they are not forgotten, not abandoned, and not without purpose. Father, if there is unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness weighing on their heart, we ask that You would bring it to light and lead them to repentance and freedom. Heal their wounds, both seen and unseen. Surround them with Your love and with people who will speak truth and life into their situation.
We pray for divine intervention, Lord. If there is physical pain, we ask for Your healing touch. If there is emotional pain, we ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). If there is spiritual oppression, we declare that Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33), and we stand on that victory. Father, give them the strength to take the next step, to reach out for help, and to hold on to the hope that is found in You alone.
We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and that Your mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). We trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Even in this dark valley, we declare that You are their light and their salvation—whom shall they fear? (Psalm 27:1). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Friend, we want you to know that your pain matters to God, and it matters to us. You are not a burden, and you are not beyond hope. The same God who raised Jesus from the dead is able to breathe new life into your situation (Romans 8:11). We encourage you to cling to His promises, even if it’s just one verse at a time. Here are a few to hold onto:
*"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."* (Psalm 34:18)
*"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."* (Matthew 11:28)
*"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."* (John 16:33)
Please, do not give up. Reach out to someone today—let them help you carry this load. You are loved more than you know, and there is hope for a future filled with purpose and joy. We are praying for you, and we believe that God is already at work in your life.
