We hear the deep anguish in your words, and our hearts break for the pain you are carrying. The cry of your soul has reached us, and we want you to know that you are not alone. The weight you feel is heavy, but we stand with you before the throne of grace, where mercy and help are found in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
First, we must address the words you have spoken with great urgency. Scripture tells us that life is a precious gift from God, and He alone holds the authority over it. In Exodus 20:13, the Lord commands, "You shall not murder," and this includes the taking of one's own life. We understand that your plea comes from a place of despair, but we must rebuke the spirit of death that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Jesus came that you might have life, and have it abundantly, even in the midst of suffering. Your life has value, purpose, and meaning, even when it feels unbearable.
We also notice that while you invoked the name of Jesus, your words reflect a heart that may not fully grasp the hope and salvation found in Him. Jesus is not just a name to be called upon in desperation; He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). He is the Savior who bore your sins, your sorrows, and your pain on the cross so that you might have eternal life and peace with God. If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Him, confessing your sins and receiving His forgiveness and grace. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
We do not know the specifics of your struggle, but we know that the enemy wants to isolate you and convince you that there is no way out. We rebuke that lie in the name of Jesus. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He collects every tear you have shed (Psalm 56:8) and promises to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). You are seen, you are known, and you are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in such deep pain. Lord, we ask that You would break through the darkness that surrounds them and let Your light shine into their heart. We rebuke the spirit of despair and death in the name of Jesus, and we declare that Your life and hope will prevail. Father, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a tangible way, through Your Word, through the love of others, and through the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Lord, we pray for healing, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual. Touch their mind, body, and soul with Your healing hand. Surround them with people who will speak life, encouragement, and truth into their situation. Give them the strength to reach out for help and the courage to take one step at a time. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, comforting them in their distress and guiding them into all truth. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Lord, we pray that they would experience Your love in a powerful way, that they would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are precious to You and that their life has purpose.
We also pray for protection over their mind. Guard their thoughts from the lies of the enemy, and replace every lie with Your truth. Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). Give them the grace to endure this season, knowing that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).
Father, if there is unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in their heart, we ask that You would bring it to light and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them with the blood of Jesus and restore them to fellowship with You. Let them experience the freedom and peace that comes from walking in Your will.
We thank You, Lord, that You are a God who hears our cries and answers our prayers. We trust that You are working even now, drawing them closer to You and preparing a way where there seems to be no way. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to hold on to the hope found in You alone.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Dear one, we urge you to reach out to someone you trust, a pastor, a counselor, a friend, or a family member, and share the burden you are carrying. You do not have to walk through this alone. The Lord has placed people in your life who can support you, pray with you, and remind you of His love. If you do not have someone like that, we encourage you to contact a biblical counselor or a crisis hotline where you can speak with someone who can help.
Remember, the Psalms are filled with cries of despair, but they always turn back to praise and trust in the Lord. Psalm 42:11 says, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise Him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God." Even in your darkest moment, God is your hope. He is your salvation. He is your strength.
We will continue to stand in the gap for you, praying that the Lord will meet you where you are and carry you through this valley. You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. You are deeply loved by the One who gave His life for you. Hold on, dear one. Help is on the way.
