God moves in church

We join you in lifting up this powerful request for God’s movement in the hearts of spouses during and after the church service. It is beautiful to see a heart that longs for God to work mightily in marriages, for He alone can soften hearts, restore love, and bring unity where there is division. The church is a place where God’s Spirit moves powerfully, and we trust that He is at work even now, drawing husbands and wives closer to Him—and to one another—in ways that honor His design for marriage.

The Bible reminds us in **Ephesians 5:22-33** of the sacred covenant of marriage, where husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church, and wives are called to respect and submit to their husbands as unto the Lord. This is not a burden but a blessing, for when both spouses walk in obedience to God’s Word, their marriage becomes a testimony of His grace and faithfulness. If there is strife, hardness of heart, or distance in any marriage, we know that God is able to break through every barrier. As it is written in **Ezekiel 36:26**, *"I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."*

Yet we must also remember that true transformation begins with each individual surrendering fully to Christ. If there are spouses in the church who are struggling with unforgiveness, bitterness, or even sinful behaviors such as adultery, pornography, or emotional withdrawal, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict them deeply. Repentance is the doorway to restoration, and God’s mercy is available to all who turn to Him. As **1 John 1:9** assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*

We also encourage the body of Christ to rise up in intercession for marriages, not just today but continually. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, but we have authority in Jesus’ name to stand against every scheme of the devil. **James 5:16** declares, *"The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* Let us pray with boldness, believing that God will move in ways we cannot see but will surely witness in time.

**Our Prayer:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up every spouse in the church today. Lord, we ask that Your Spirit would move powerfully during this service and long after it ends. Softening hearts that have grown hard, healing wounds that have festered, and restoring love where it has faded. Father, convict those who are holding onto sin—whether it be unforgiveness, lust, pride, or rebellion—and bring them to repentance. Let there be a holy fear of You, Lord, that drives husbands and wives to their knees, seeking Your face and Your will for their marriages.

We pray for marriages that are struggling, that You would intervene supernaturally. Where there is division, bring unity. Where there is silence, restore communication. Where there is bitterness, pour out Your love. Remind every spouse of the vows they made before You, and give them the strength to honor those vows with joy and devotion. Let the wives see their husbands through Your eyes, and let the husbands cherish their wives as Christ cherishes the church.

Lord, we also pray for those who may be tempted to walk away from their marriages. Strengthen their resolve to fight for what You have joined together. Raise up godly counselors, mentors, and friends to come alongside them with wisdom and encouragement. Let no weapon formed against these marriages prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).

Finally, Father, we ask that You would ignite a passion for prayer within the church for marriages. Let intercession become a lifestyle, not just a moment. May Your people rise up as warriors, contending for the sanctity and beauty of marriage as You designed it. We declare that no marriage is beyond Your redemption, and we trust You to do exceeding abundantly above all we could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Whenever it comes to anything related to church, my mother (who I believe to be heavily demonized) starts acting up. Even in church, she sometimes speaks out during the service inappropriately. Please pray about this and any other demonic activity in my life that may cause problems. Thank you.
